Server not connecting via SSH

Hi,

I've got a new dedicated from GETDEDI.

After 2-3days the SSH was inaccessible.

Then I tried checking logs, network etc. And well used VPN and connected to check firewall problems.

Also finally contacted my server admin and he couldn't help.

The IP itself doesn't resolve or else connect as well. Putty time outs.

Getdedi asks $75 for a 30mins fix. Which is a huge amount. Server is $110.

Any help to solve on my own?

Thanks

  • Do you have access via IPMI?

Can't you reboot from control panel or something?

Also assuming you don't have access to IPMI?

If you've got IPMI access, that'll be a bonus as you can reboot the entire system, IPMI will also give you access to a console where you can see whats wrong with the server (well check).

If your host is asking you for $75 for a fix they "might" have done or what not. this is very bad.

I have IPMI, i have rebooted and it didn't help

When you click "KVM" it should download a file that you should "Open With..." Java. If you do not have Java, then this would be the problem.

Use the console. You'll need Java installed. This should let you log in to the server and check SSH is running and networking etc.

  • Thanks Guys for the Help.. @Virtovo, @MSPNick, @GoodHosting, @udk

I worked out with KVM and Fixed it and SAVED $75...
