Which Russia/Ukraine/Moldova VPS provider?

kerouackerouac Member
edited June 2014 in Help

I need stability, speed, no bullshit & paypal. Will use for VPN and/or Socks Proxy, should be cool with downloading torrents etc

So far I know of

Deltahost.com in Ukraine 15USD 1gb

Ukrdc.com in Ukraine 5USD 512mb

NQHost.com in Russia 6USD 512mb

Unit-is in Ukraine 12,5USD 512mb

Which of these, or another one?

    Check out http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/28831/vstoike-ru-russian-federation-5-for-512mb-mem-and-30gb-space/p1
haven't used them personally, but from my general impression they look better than any other RU host out there.

As for NQhost, what they don't tell you is that their "unmetered 100 Mbit" VPSes have a hard upload b/w limit of about 28 Mbit/sec, may be enough for some or even most uses, but I find that to be a pretty dishonest practice.

You can't go wrong with EDIS http://www.edis.at/en/server/kvm-vps/russia/

If you're looking for a local based vps provider there won't be many as paypal is not a common payment method there.

I've heard good things about deltahost but I've never used them.

Justhost.in.ua is one of the few who accepts paypal and has been around for a while (company registred in Dominica): http://www.justhost.in.ua/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=20&Itemid=54&lang=en

itldc.com also accepts paypal and they advertised on LET: http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/28873/nl-us-ua-itldc-com-kvm-vds-with-ssd-from-3-83-and-server-from-41-let-specials

http://zvps.com/ Choose their Russian location, i think they are with russian telecom network.

    https://infiumhost.com/en/vds-vps.html

Used to be cheaper but they now accept paypal (https://infiumhost.com/en/payments.html) and have an almost complete english website.

They "should be cool with downloading torrents etc" as there is much s*it running in their network, which might influence network stability.

That seems to be just a different brand of NQhost.

  • I have used www.infobox.ru and uptime and reliability was preety good.

  • Ukrdc.com
    Unit-is

are famous ukranian ISP with own DCs. Many positive feedbacks on forums. I know Deltahost and NQHost but can't say anything about them.

Don't you interested in romanian VPS? It's close to Moldova and have cool Voxility DC. I suppose it must be VPS providers work with it on LET.

  • This has better ping to me like 100ms

No it must be CIS for what I have in mind. Since Belaroussian prices are off the roof, it can either be Russia, Ukraine or Moldova. I think Moldova would have the best ping to me, followed by Ukraine than Russia.

Other CIS countries would be expensive/slow/high ping I believe.

  • Any comments on HostEasy.eu in Moldova?

  • kerouac said: Any comments on HostEasy.eu in Moldova

    Perfect... that is all...
I've been using them on and off for a few years for small and larger projects.. had a few dedi's with them.. network was superb. heaps of notice for all maintenance. but havent used the vps' since they revamped them.. (but for reference the 100mbit vps' are 100mbit Dedicated) no need to worry about hogging the line from others

  • :)
I didn't know anything about this ISP before u told. But. When i looked at there site and saw "500Gbps DDOS protection" i felt that something is wrong, because there are not to much DCs in Europe provide such bandwith. And what do u think? Yeah, their VPSs are from Voxility :)

There should also be some sensible offers in Kazakhstan. Some are listed on http://www.exoticvps.com/, I think there were more, but can't remember any off the top of my head. However luxuries such as an English website or Paypal support are even more rare there; and yeah, you will find that the ping is higher for you than to those other countries.

Also not sure what use you are planning, but keep in mind the Ukraine is currently in the process of leaving the CIS, so I guess that crosses them out from your list ^^

  • There is only one datacenter in KZ and it's too far, toooo far... Seems ukranian offers would be better for u @kerouac

  • PS I mean the country is too far, not the DC )

    Negative.
One of their Upstream providers are Voxility thus the reason they can offer 500Gbit DDoS protection..

  • I have to monitor all Russia/Ukraine offers for virtual/dedicated servers, and personally use 80% of Russian VPS providers, so here's what i know.

    Deltahost.com - scum, one-man show [unadequate man]

    Ukrdc.com - unknown, probably summer-time resellers

NQHost.com - total resell of all resources, you'll get very very bad perfomance; will not refund you ever

Unit-is - slow/overselled bandwidth; not good for VPN

http://www.edis.at/en/server/kvm-vps/russia/ - poor DC/network choice, very low-end DC and network, so perfomance is at minimal level, they are in Moscow, but ping to many Moscow providers is 60+ ms

zvps.com - oversell, low CPU and Disk perfomance; will not refund you ever

    Here's my suggestions:

http://myvps.ru/ Rock-Solid in Moscow; rather cheap (only in Moscow); paypal available

http://hostink.ru/vps/ Rather stable in Moscow, own control panel, honestly and open, choice of multiple processors. No PayPal, but available Visa/Mastercard.

https://hosting.reg.ru/vps/ Stable in Moscow, 100,000+ clients, no PayPal, but available Visa, MasterCard / EuroCard

http://planetahost.ru/ Stable in Moscow, very old provider, also provide home network services (other brand). No PayPal, but available Visa/Mastercard.

http://www.1gb.ru/ Stable in Moscow, very old provider, unknown about PayPal.

http://www.ukrnames.com/ This is the biggest hosting-provider in Ukraine, most of Ukrain VPS/Dedicated providers are resellers of this. Unknown about PayPal. If you use this, be sure to register with fake details including fake (redirect) e-mail, because this is the hosting from hackers, they'll run bruteforce for your e-mail just after you register and sure stole all other details you give to them.

All of suggested providers, expect last, do not have English version of website. Hopefully you know what Google Translate is.

They are reselling DO in Singapore and Linode in Tokyo (likely some other locations are resold too), and aren't being upfront about what they're doing, to me that's borderline scam (and I generally dislike and see no legitimate reason for most resellers to exist). Makes me distrust them even for their Russia services and wonder whom they're reselling those from, and how can I order directly for cheaper and not via them.
