Proxmox is free you just don't get support unless you pay. OVZ web-panel is actually quite nice. It also has a WHMCS plugin. You've also got feathur and hostguard which are quite inexpensive (Feathur is technically free, although think they would appreciate a donation if you are making money of their work)

  • oh i see sounds good : ) the site doesn't seem to stand out with free lol for proxmox but it says open source, good info wondering if anyone here uses any of these free alternatives to solusvm?

BlueVM use feathur (obv, since they developed it), plus a couple of others, it's a nice panel to use for the end user, but no idea how it works from the provider end.

    I've deployed:

OpenVZ-Web-Panel (It's good for what it does and costs. I have a real soft spot for it)

Proxmox (A good solid product that can be deployed in a number of configurations.)

Feathur (Installed a test instance, seemed OK has active development)

Hostguard (Really wanted to like this as it has some good ideas. Had quite a few problems deploying so gave up on it. Lots of promise; however it looks like development has either slowed or happening in private)

@sz1hosting - Feathur is free under the AGPL 3.0 license. You're welcome to use it to sell VPS. If you like you can buy a support license for $3.50 per server per month or donate to the project. There's no requirement (technical or legal) to donate or buy a license.

  • @BlueVM thanks : ) just curious now thinking of buying a big dedicated server in a few months
