Thank you for your input and this is just out of curiosity.

It would be on our own hardware but I believe OVH would be located in Montreal.

    Yes.

I'm sure a lot of people would be interested if the price and level of resources were right.

maybe for Canadian Netflix (VPN) ?

  • @liam said: As long as it's not hosted on a yesup server.

@liam said: Very bad network. High packet loss and ping. Everything else is fine except the network.

Actually, I just got one after they said they upgraded their network, and it seems to be fine for me, I'll post some stats:

Edit: no idea how to embed images.

I haven't had any problems with YesUpHost yet, they even managed to get me a free SSD upgrade when I prepay for 3 months.

    $49/month for:

    CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2100 CPU @ 3.10GHz
BW 1TB of 1Gbps bandwidth (Not bad for 1Gbps)
    HDD500GB SATA III drive ****@host:~$ dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync 16384+0 records in 16384+0 records out 1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 9.25675 s, 116 MB/s
    RAM 8GB DDR3

They generally have fast response time, provide KVM on request, they said they were bringing out dedicated KVM-IP for each node in June.

Sorry for derail, but I don't think they're bad at all.

  • I have to agree with @Insidiea. From my personal experiences with the company and running tests with the IP/file they provided recently, I was able to get much better speeds after the network upgrade than before. I'm glad their network has improved and I look forward to continuing work with them once again in the near future.

Yes, they recently fixed their packetloss issues.
