Ubuntu 14.04 OpenVZ template
I haven't seen much going around about Ubuntu 14.04 OpenVZ templates (except that VPSDime offers it as an option), so I thought I'd offer up one that I have.
This is based off of the template found at http://forum.proxmox.com/threads/18356-Ubuntu-14-04-Template but with vi/vim and updates as of today. This is a very minimal version (no apache/samba/bind/cups or other servers preinstalled).

I hope this helps someone out there out.

Did you build this yourself? I'm keen to find one to develop but am loathed to download from anywhere but openvz.org - who knows what nasties could have been added.
Easiest thing is to build yourself (get fresh Ubuntu installation somewhere and use debootstrap, get rid of stuff like any specific Mac addresses or what not then tar it up), I wouldn't trust someone else's template, OpenVZ is obviously more trustworthy but heck even that you can't take for granted.
True, but we would find anything quickly. I always believed that Open Source is best because of all those paranoid developers.
I based it off of the template I linked above. I did look through it for funny stuff, albeit not thoroughly. Feel free to untar it and scan through it, or just start it up and scan away.
There's a guide available at http://openvz.org/Ubuntu_Trusty_template_creation if you want to tackle it yourself.
Just a little update, "official" OpenVZ betas are now available:

Very nice! Have you tried it yet? I hope it doesn't include all the cruft the other templates they offer tend to have.
I haven't had chance today, maybe Sunday...
