Yes. He gave it to cheapvpsdeals as a courtesy. No further relation AFAIK.
He claims that iperweb bought it as a donation to him.
Hm.. nothing personal. Just by reading some comments by someone using cheapvpsdeals.net in here, that makes me curious.
So, we can have a domain for free from @Iperweb / @prometeus ?
To be more precise, there were some comments about why .info is "unprofessional", and I suggested .net was available. Sal (@prometeus), who is a kind-hearted fellow, grabbed it for him (free of charge, naturally). He did the same for cheapvpstalk.net recently, and IIRC also got DepotVPS_Shane a domain or two when he was thinking of launching his services.
@taipres actively refused to transfer the domain to himself...
If you want to start your own provider/review site/other LEB/LET-community-oriented activity, you can certainly request him :-)

There is nothing suspicious here, @Iperweb has donated a couple of domains to people here as far as im aware. Probably gets them at a nice price :P

I have bought many domains. As for now, I have about 12 domains, but none of them is about provider/review. Just domain for personal blog, and some were given for free for my friends.
So, since @Iperweb is so nice, kind person, maybe I will stay with him for long time as provider

At first, I'm just curious that taipres were disliked by some people in here. While he is having something from this community that he is bashing around.
Yeah no affiliation, he bought the domain for the community because he's an awesome guy. He remains control over it too even though he was even kind enough to offer to transfer it. https://www.prometeus.net is a great company, been in business 13+ years,I hope you guys check out their site deals. I have a couple on my site, and i'm sure various are on LEB too.

and yeah I whois sites a lot too, but mostly for my website. I definitely whois a site before I buy from it though, and research them on google, unless it's well known.
It is a tremendous mistake that people learn over and over again, to work on / develop / promote a website under a domain controlled by someone else.

rm if prometeus decides to change the URL to something else, that's his choice. CVD is for the community, i've been saying that and people don't believe me but I backup it up with my actions.
