What is the best cloud storage for 1.5TB of files?

I am looking for a good cloud storage to back up my 1.5TB files. I know some of you guys will tell me to buy a hard drive, yes, I do have a 2TB to back it up already, but I want another back up so I can remotely access it without carrying my HD around.

"Cloud storage" -- what is that? You want to put your hard drives in the sky?

No, I think he wants to put a cloud away... save it for a rainy day type of thing.

If you want to just have them available in case you need them and don't mind lower upload+download speeds the best value will be a could backup service. Highly recommend Crashplan. Not the best solution if these are files you regularly access remotely though. Won't sync the files but you will be able to download them.

He's obviously saying that he is looking a way to charge electrons on a cloud, so the cloud can hold data... geeez with you guys!

I think Amazon Glacier will be better for his case. Since he's trying to make back up of back ups. Glacier is a lot cheaper than S3 as well.

If you want to do it for free, encrypt your files and put them on one of those Chinese cloud drives. I think Baidu offers 2TB free storage with 4GB file size limit. Not sure how long the files will last there though.

What happens when they decide to delete your data or redundancy fails and you loose it? Someone once said that your data is worth about as much as you value it.

Right, don't put any sensitive data on those Chinese cloud drives. If the data is important/valuable, Amazon Glacier / Box / Dropbox / Copy will be a better choice.

why? If your data is important store them on local hardisk ;)

  • I am so confused with the Amazon Glacier pricing. So how much does 2TB of space cost?

By the way, I was playing around with Copy.com, they seems really amazing. I registered thru someone's link and I got 5GB extra space free.

If anyone want to help me to get a little extra space, https://copy.com?r=MpoQxY

  • Try out http://www.zoolz.com/, they use an Amazon Glacier

  • https://hubic.com/offers/ - 10TB - 10€/mo

Speeds are great (not the fastest). WebUI could be done much better, but if it's purely for a backup purposes then you can't go wrong with them I guess.

  • Hows crashplan with backing up to other computers that you own? I'd love that option. Does it require opening ports or automatic connectivity via UPnP?

If you know how to manage a dedicated server i suggest looking here

    https://www.fitvps.com/members/cart.php?gid=2

atleast you will get a burstable 100Mbps of network speed.

Their Eco2 - Intel Atom N2800 dedi costs $25/m and for a extra $13.10 you can have it configured with a 2TB HDD.

It is probably not the cheapest solution for your intended purpose but it will be the quickest if you live close to Bulgaria. it really depends on what is important to you.

I am having serious problems with zoolz. I can backup (at 2Mbits) but cannot restore them without problems. It still has a lot of bugs. When it restore it and says that it is ok, but some files are corrupt :-(

    I do not recommend it.

I have tried also a livedriver reseller and I am able to backup at full speed (10Mbits), but with zoolz only 2.
