  • This is an interesting offer. I appreciate that bandwidth is expensive in say South Africa...but the RAM (in particular) and Disk upgrades seem expensive. Could you help me understand why?

  • We are still learning how best to price our services and I don't think we fully understand all the factors. We do have costs and we can't just give the services away. It is open for discussion and review.

  • @vpsnine ok, fair enough. I was surprised by the cost of RAM/disk upgrades - bandwidth I understand for SA. You know the costs you have to cover and I can imagine you'll sell plenty of 5USD VPSes but the upgrade costs don't feel very competitive with other providers here.

  • didn't these guys have unbelievaly low prices some time ago, which was more unbelievable for locations like south africa? then it got way too expensive. not sure if they rethought their pricing policy and stopped overselling or just increased the prices so that people wouldn't refrain from buying from them as it looked oversold...

You must be thinking of someone else, it was not us.
Our pricing has been pretty much the same, at least since I got involved in Feb 2012. We have however added locations and features (like KVM now in some locations) and even there we have not been too wild with pricing differences.

The OpenVZ package in South Africa (well all our locations are the same price ) was always $10 for 256M RAM, 1 Core, 10GB Disk, 300GB bandwidth. We added the $5 option in Nov 2013 for 128M RAM, 1 Core, 5 GB Disk, 150GB bandwidth. And we now added the KVM options as above. We did have some specials discounts available for LET/LEB members, but it looks like our old posts here have been deleted. (Some of the discounts we ran can be seen on our Twitter account however https://twitter.com/vpsnine )

You can verify our pricing if you don't believe me by checking them as we publish them on WHT

  • Your MaxMad check on paranoid mode :(

  • Our MaxMind checks are not set that high, but MaxMind seems very
good at spotting folks who are using a VPN to place orders (not just from the IP currently being used) and they that causes the risk score to go through the roof.

If you contact [email protected] we can override it.

We tried few days ago with real ISP, data and real phone number but got refused after your phone call with PIN, entered PIN are correct. What wrong? We just registered with other provider used same verification with same data without any problem.

  • Pls PM me your details and I can have a look at what Maxmind said

  • They said: Find someone else..
