Anyone got a good IPIP Tutorial?

I'm working on setting up ddos protection for a server via ipip, but I cannot find a good tutorial that explains how to set up both sides in a way that someone who doesn't know a whole ton about networking can understand. Anyone got a good one?

Setting up an IPIP tunnel is the same as GRE just instead of loading the ip_gre module load the module ipip (OpenVZ only, normal kernels auto load it) and on the iptunnel side ipip instead of gre in the
iptunnel addcall.Nothing fancy.
Is there any advantage of ipip over gre?
