Looking for a VPS in the Bahamas

Looking for a vps in the Bahamas at a decent price. More importantly I only need a good port speed and a good amount of bandwidth. Any provider suggestions?

Decent port speed in the Bahamas? lol
The above with a good amount of bandwidth? Lol
The above at a decent price? LOL!

In general, the islands in and surrounding the Caribbean do not have good internet connections. Even slow internet is expensive. For example, when I last checked (a few years ago), 128kbps ADSL (note the small "b") cost $120/month (residential) on some of the islands.

The Bahamas are beautiful -- I especially like Bimini. Wish I was there right now instead of super-duper cold Buffalo NY.

    • The part with the many trees does seem beautiful. The part with some many buildings so close together with virtually no breathing air... i don't find so beautiful.

    • Personally, I don't care much for beaches, sunshine, etc... I like Seattle and all it's rainy cloudy goodness. I'd much rather be in a big city then a beach. Am I weird...?

Zakynthos is much closer to you anyway ;-)

    • @Spirit living in a city on the sea shore i am not very interested in going to the beach anyway :) I very much prefer forests, mountains, etc. :)

Did I mention that I live in alpine, the second most forested country in Europe. And you're not even so far away geographically. hint, hint for vacations

@rds100 This part of Corfu town you see in picture is the old town builded about 300-400 years ago! If you visit it, you will see that is more beautiful even than the famous corfu-ionian beaches! Search for photos and youll see: ) Also, we do have a couple of forests with rare green, on the island and two mountains, about 1100 m high

@Spirit Zakynthos is in the south of our region, Ionian islands. Corfu is the capital of the region.

I prefer that style of living too, so we can be weird together lol. I generally prefer cold/rainy places, snow is a bit of a pain in the ass though so I'd rather not have that.

I've actually been thinking about moving to Seattle myself, since I do prefer that type of weather they have.

Not really. In the German part of Switzerland they say "Näi". They don't want to speak German as they write it.

Gah, it's amazing here! Plus, this whole season its only snowed about 2-3" and that all melted within a day. It's mainly just rain/wind that you have to worry about.

+1 for Seattle and the fact that i'm not the only one who likes Rainy/Cold climates :)

Yeah I'm fine with rain and wind, hell I prefer it. I'd really like to scout some homes/apartments in Seattle some time. Too bad I hear it is expensive though.

That is very true. You could just live in an outlying city (i.e. Tacoma, Renton, Kent, etc), from what i've heard the prices in some of those cities are night and day differences (depending on what you need). Plus, it's only ~30 minutes to the heart of Seattle from those areas.

Yeah, I might look into that too. I don't have a need to live right in the heart of the city.

Yup, plus parking in Seattle.. Good luck with that.

I kind of wonder how many other LETers live in the Seattle area...?
