12 $ per year VPS??? How is this possible?
I see one provider is offering 12 $ per year vps with 256 mb ram.
I am told that a dedicated server has maximum 32 IPs and a lowest possible dedicated server would cost at least 50 $ a month. So here are some calcultions:
50*12 = 600 $ per year
A dedicated server has maximum 32 IPs so the vendor can sell maximum 32 accounts because each VPS needs a unique IP So:
12*32 = 384 $ per year
So they are paying atleast 600 $ for only dedicated server and I am not even adding the solusVM lease. They will only sell maximum of 32 accounts and make 384 $ in one year. So aren't they selling at a loss?

32 isn't the limit for a server.
From what I know from a old friend he had almost 300+ IPs and he only had 2 or 3 Dedi's ...
Buying bulk usually cheaper than buying a few items (I'm assuming but it works like that in the global market. Maybe IPs are the same)

What is the limit then? I called ovh and they said all their dedicated servers have IP limit of 32.
@stallion Not everyone gets their dedicated servers from OVH. In theory, you could bind an entire /8 to a server if you wanted to. It would probably be somewhat inefficient and taxing on the node though.
What does that mean? Can you translate it into noob friendly language?
Which provider would you recommend? I need dedicated server for VPS hosting.

With $110-ish I could get a bunch of IPs and OH server (before) and make medium profits if you have it set up really well. But its always risky both with clients and attackers (abuse and Ddos)
But that shouldn't scare you away.

It's just a matter of cost, justification etc.
IPs are fairly cheap when purchased directly from ARIN. I can't recall the exact price but they're cheaper than the $1-2 that most DC sell them to you at.

I was only told some brief info about it, is that almost like a set up fee and that you pay for the actual allocation too? Or is that for the allocation altogether?

Nope, with new OVH 2014 servers you can order upto 16 Failover IPs + 256 Ripe Failover IPs.32 was limit with their 2013 SP model servers, with others it was always 64 to 128 IPs
I don't understand. Is ovh.com and ovh.co.uk same company? The packages on both sites seem differant.
IP cost less if you rent/buy in bulk. Sometimes as low as few cents per month.

I think they mean a LEB providers yearly deals (one provider as in a specific provider rather than OneProvider.com).

QuickPacket recently decreased their charges for additional IP addresses, they're pretty cheap now. With (probably) all providers, you'll have to fill out forms with justification and previous usage.
IPs aren't technically "owned" anymore unless you have an old legacy IP block. With ARIN in particular, you pay a "membership fee" based on the total amount of IP space you have with them. This membership fee isn't a "purchase fee" it's more or less a maintenance fee assessed to you based on what you have on-lease from ARIN. Unless you give them a reason to revoke the IPs they are yours, but they do hold the power to revoke IP allocations if absolutely necessary.

Not only and power of incorrect maths and such hosts are disappearing very quickly from the market, the same as some Ebay sellers - selling on the ebay at loss
