So I am currently a couple of days in to my first dedicated server rental from VaporNode.

Specs:

CPU: Dual Xeon L5520 RAM: 32GB ECC RAM HDD: 500GB SATA Bandwidth: 10TB @ 1GBPS IPs: 4 Useable

Benchmark

CPU model : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU L5520 @ 2.27GHz Number of cores : 16 CPU frequency : 2266.774 MHz Total amount of ram : 32030 MB Total amount of swap : 16119 MB System uptime : 3 days, 2:00, Download speed from CacheFly: 81.2MB/s Download speed from Coloat, Atlanta GA: 24.1MB/s Download speed from Softlayer, Dallas, TX: 31.6MB/s Download speed from Linode, Tokyo, JP: 4.03MB/s Download speed from i3d.net, NL: Download speed from Leaseweb, Haarlem, NL: 5.06MB/s Download speed from Softlayer, Singapore: 3.77MB/s Download speed from Softlayer, Seattle, WA: 7.00MB/s Download speed from Softlayer, San Jose, CA: 15.6MB/s Download speed from Softlayer, Washington, DC: 36.6MB/s I/O speed : 101 MB/s

Customer Service

So far any questions or concerns I've had have been addressed within a few minutes. Sometimes responses take an hour or so. Nothing to long.

@fizzyjoe908 is always willing to lend a hand and help out wherever he can.

Network

The network performs pretty well for me. I am running a couple of game servers, and a couple of dev vms on OpenVZ Web Panel.

Location

This server is located in the Continuum Data Center, and the network seems to be pretty good so far. Haven't had any hiccups or problems.

Overall

Great service, the pricing is pretty good. IP addresses are a bit pricey but I'm sure they will only get more and more expensive as fewer are available.

I'm happy with this purchase and will be keeping this server for a good long while.

  • Thank you for the kind review and continued business!

You might be posting too soon :) a couple of days of service and you post a review? try giving it a few months and then come back.

It's just these types of reviews mean nothing.

@ATHK the amount of questions and support I've used the first couple of days has been quite a lot.

Only took 48 hours to get a sour taste from ChicagoVPS so this review counts for something.

  • Fair enough, maybe it's just me I like to read reviews where the user has had the service for 6 months or more as it just makes more sense.

I can't comment on CVPS the reviews I've read are never good so I can see why you had an issue :)

The name certainly is interesting :)

It would be great if they would continue the great service ;) "Vapor" ;)

Well if the network and support stay the same I'll be a long term customer for sure.

Me too. Response to new customers may be different from the rest. Hope they don't vaporize one fine morning.

Your haven't had any of the network slowness you experienced when you had the DediDirect server there?

  • Do we get a vape with every server we purchase?

  • @agoldenberg how much are you paying?

VaporNode isn't vaporizing any time soon. While it is a new brand, I've been in the hosting industry for over two years and bring many more in IT knowledge.

DediDirect is god awful. @fragready is taking over most of their clients as they provide little to no support in the most ignorant and broken English I've ever witnessed.

  • VaporNode has been around a couple of months. I've been with @fizzyjoe908's service since 1 Sept (formerly Chromobyte). I haven't hit six months and I'm using a Budget Server (dual L5420's/16GB RAM/500GB HDD (added 2-2TB drives)) and I agree with @agoldenberg about the service and customer support. I'd gladly recommend their service but they are generally outside LEB range.

Once I get to six months with fizzyjoe908, I'll do a real review.

@agoldenberg How many cigs were you smoking per day before you decided to quit and what was your preferred brand?

@vampireJ I posted looking for a Chicago dedi and got lucky that @vapornode was feeling generous.

  • It was most certainly a generous holiday offering.

    @fizzyjoe908 and I can't thank you enough!
