  • How fast is the unmetered plan and how unmetered?

  • IncrehostIncrehost Member
    edited November 2013

Currently is a 100M port, and there is no rate limit for the boxes and we try to keep it like that as long there are no abuses.

  • So I could max out a 100mbps port 24/7 with no issues?

    Mun

nope, that won't be fair nor polite to other users.

    Cheers

  • Then don't call it unmetered. You are frankly fall advertising.

    Mun

  • Exactly as you say ! Unmetered Traffic != Unlimited Speed

Thank you for making such a good example on what not to do, for other readers to see!

    Cheers :) !!

Unmetered means there is no limit to how much bandwidth is sent through a port. By all regards it should be "unmetered within reason". Not ohh you can send as much traffic as you would like, which is currently what your post is stating. There are many posts here that offer full unmetered, unrestricted 100mbps and they fully do offer it, unlike you. As such you are lying to me, a prospective customer.

    Mun

  • Sure, Thank you !

  • how many users are sharing this 100M port?

  • Like it's commonly seen between providers, this is a fair-share 100Mbit service, you are able to burst to 100 Mbit/sec and use 100Mbit/sec as long as it won't affect other customers.

Despite that, the service won't take into account Bandwidth on the VPS itself.

    Cheers

I've known @IncreHost for long, I'm pretty sure this will be well managed and ran by him as he has been doing since 2005 :)

  • I have 3 VPSes with IncreHost (Miami, L.A., and Frankfurt) and have never had any network throughput problems or latency concerns. Solid network peering.

  • Got a LA one, but still see the 1TB bandwidth limit.

Hi, this is usually, the regular 1TB plan, so we are just raising the limit manually,
anyway in your purchase order it says unmetered so there's no mistake.

Thank you for noting this, and please confirm that your limit is raised !!

    Cheers !

    Cool, it's fixed now. Thanks!

  • Thank you.

  • Those tests are inside a VM and not in the node itself.

  • @HWAYS said:
    Thank you.

no problem, check that I killed a cpu intensive process and edited the hdd test again
as it was slowing things down.

    Thank you!

  • It is better now but slower than my current provider. I would like a KVM in Europe in this price and specs.

  • IncrehostIncrehost Member
    edited December 2013

well, we could play a little with the disk cache for the VM, on the node itself it's faster actually,
despite that it's a pretty fast network and a pretty silent/quiet/calm node :)
