Ftp server setup with Red Hat IDM Solution

Hi.
We have a Red Hat IDM solution (Identity Management) where all users are controlled, like a Linux Active Directory. It uses Kerberos and IPA/FreeIPA. In this way only allowed persons and computers can logon to specific servers using SSH. All this works. But I would like to reuse this infrastructure on a FTP server (VSFTP). So the FTP server should validate logins the same way SSH does, using the central user database.
In other words
SSH works perfectly with our Red Hat IDM solution (Identity Management). But I would like a normal FTP server that validates the users the same way... that is IDM account in stead of local accounts. Somehow I need to configure the FTP server to talk IDM.
