@freerangecloud has a location in VA afaik. Not sure if they do colo there though.
Ha yeah I have a VPS there where I terminate my IPv6. I think I looked before and they don't...
Psychz has Ashburn
pretty sure I heard an epic song about them recently?
Dacentec is pretty close.
Haha, https://psychz.network -- fire song!!
Unironically 🔥
Mzungu Hosting been real quiet since this dropped
Would you be interested in coming to Texas?
We have New Jersey it close to VA
If you’d consider going with a dedicated server, we have Ashburn, VA.

Can’t order online yet for this PoP but if that’s of interest for you - please PM.
This location is already live with Customers.
thanks.. I already have 2 1U supermicro boxes trying to decide if it's practical to pull out of my rack at home. and place elsewhere..
I've got gigabit fios so that's why nova is appealing because latency is super low for me"
You will often find, that a small scale collocation will be quite more expensive than a dedicated server, particularly when you require remote hands. It’s. A point often missed and a surprise when it comes to OS reinstalls, server recoveries or disk replacements. Datacenter charges for every minute spend on the job and rounds it up to full half an hour.
I'm not entirely opposed.. but see my luxurious latency to NoVA . You have a looking glasses or something?
Yeah that's definitely overhead to consider. Especially disk replacement. I've got IPMI so out-of-band management shouldn't™ be too bad as long as I isolate and put behind VPN etc.
Candidly as far as bare metal and equinix I'm holding out for their new Ampere Altra boxes coming.. which I know is probably a whole other league of expense.
In the meantime wanted to start kicking the tires more with my current iron which is pretty decent... E5-2560 v3 256gig ram, and E5-2680 v4 256gig ram.

I currently have some NYC if interested. DM me if interested:)
I know of a few DC's in RVA, and I've been looking to get colo space. What's your budget? I might take the plunge and move my core to RVA finally.
Haha yeah lets talk. Ill dm you
@lanefu how was the latency?
Pretty Good! RVA == homebase
Here's me pinging you
and me pinging me
@lanefu thats good to hear. If there is anything we can do to help out please let me know.
Yeah unfortunately we're just renting space by the U so it would be cost prohibitive and a bit of a logistical nightmare to resell colo in Ashburn.
If you're still looking, I can refer you to the guy we're leasing space from and you can see if he has any more space available.
I know this thread is old, but was anything found in the RVA area? Looking myself to rack some equipment.
Hoping the dates are Aug 2021 and not some other year to make this a really old thread.
Pixelfactory in Ashland has some decent options and really great connectivity, but ultimately opted to send my gear to @DataIdeas-Josh in Texas. His prices and SLA were a good match for my use case.
