VM/VPS Control Panel Poll

I'm curious what providers are using these days regarding VM / VPS control panels. It would be good to know who is leading, though my personal experience with all has been lacklustre.

I like the clean interface of SolusVM.
The only missing feature is ISO upload.

Most providers are using Virtualizor though.
Virtualizor has ISO upload, but there's too much clutter.
Also, it cannot display IPv4 gateway and IPv6 routes, so I have to either look at config in rescue or guess.

microLXC has the best interface, but it can only handle LXC.
LXC is not my favorite because Docker doesn't work.

    SolusIO is the worst.
It's both cluttered and missing many features.

i have found virtualizor to be sluggish on every host i have used it with. it just seems to load slowly and be unresponsive.

    SolusIO is dead already.

I have tried Proxmox, Virtualizor & SolusVM.

The problem with each i would explain here.

    Virtualizor:
Pros: It has everything and support is terrific, and if you are entering the business go with this, there is no way you can go wrong.
Cons: Pricing, after you spin up like 10-15 servers, the cost really adds up.

SolusVM: (PS: I have tested it in trial environment only and never went production)
    Pros: Again it has everything.
Cons: Pricing, and you need a slave server, kinda redundant tbh.

    Proxmox: My current environment setup.
Pros: Much more customizable and can be self-developed, and it's free
Cons: No ready to use the plugin, had to buy WHMCS module from modulegarden, after the initial investment (1yr+), till now no cost has crept up.

I'm unsure of that all given OnApp is now part of the family.

They'd have 2 products fighting for the same market.

  • I like SolusVM, a simple panel with enough features. But yes, missing ISO upload feature. I find Virtualizor slow compared to other panels.

SolusVM hasn’t really changed in so long, it appears rather basic but seems to mostly do the job from a customer perspective - not sure how it is to manage for the provider.

In contrast, Virtualizor seems more modern but lacks some of the basics (e.g. changing VPS time zone) and is rather slow loading which can make it difficult to use.

    1. No one should ever use a service from their competitor
    2. It's still currently under development

We used many control panels. Hsphere was first (it was billing, shared hosting + vps hosting clasterized panel). I guess it was 2004-2008 year or so. Then we used SolusVM till to 2012 or 2013. We also used OnApp panel in the same time period. From 2013 and till to now we use only VMmanager (ispsystem.com) to provide virtual servers to customers. I could say that all panels doing their work well but actually each host choose most suitable solution follow his own requirement.

We support the message above, we also use VMmanager, from 2017 to 2020 we used VMManager 5, in 2020 we migrated to VMManager 6, everything suits, great functionality, panel support releases frequent updates.

Proxmox all the way, its solid as a rock, no issues, just works.
Everything else seems to take a shit now and then.

Put your own integration in front, profit!
