Serverica down

rb2krb2k Member
edited July 2021 in Outages

There was an email about 3 hours of downtime, but it seems like a large amount of machines have been down 20h+ and counting. No updates on their internal news feed/messages, only vague updates on twitter. Bit of a shame.

  • We have moved significant numbers of servers already to the new Data Centre.

We couldn't complete the move yesterday due to bad weather.

The remaining servers will be moved today starting 10AM EST.

As already communicated the Downtime will be approx 5 hours for Storage and Hosting plans.

2 to 3 hours for NVMe and SSD plans.

If you have anymore questions, please contact us on [email protected]

Please expect a slight delay in response as we are occupied in migration

By the time they wrote that, some servers had already been down for 8+ hours, so not particularly clear or helpful. It appears that everything was shut down and won't be started until ???? time on Friday, which means the downtime is really going to be more like 30-36 hours.

Can Any one suggest Stable Windows VPS provider in Europe ? as this much downtime has become routine with them.

    https://kts24.com

We offer cheap and stable KVM servers wich could be used with Linux or Windows as OS.

  • Even if it was up the "SSD" was that slow its may as well be down

    Hi All ,

We Have been moving the servers for the past few days with very few issues, till we reached the storage users,

The issue with storage is that our storage is SAN , which means the storage is not self-contained in the server as a result we have to do a full move for all storage servers in one shot,

We have prepared for this, and we have created a new network on the new site so that we don’t have to move network equipment to speed the process.

We estimated the total move time based on have at least 3 others helping but due to delays from our side on the 30th and due to July first is the moving day for everyone here in Montreal no one really showed

So the work that should be done by 4 is done by a single person which took too much time

Now after we moved everything some storage servers refuse to connect to the storage network (the servers and data are fine it is a networking issue) we are trying to resolve it but till this moment we couldn’t find a solution.

We will compensate for the downtime, and we will fix the network ASAP

    Thanks

  • ^ Got that email also, shitty that nobody showed up to get the work done. I bet heads will roll on Monday over there! ;)

polar bear is back to work. all good.

things can go sideways that's what it is. seems he clearly managed to work through it anyway and I am pretty sure he'll figure the rest of it too. a few more hours than expected for some backup storage, no need for compensation here.

  • Yeah my polar bear is back :)

the status of service show as "Active", only show this error message on the detail page, it should be the same migration issue.
