Does SYS support BGP, and does it support both IPv4 and IPv6 IP transit?

    no

I am guessing OVH doesn't either, right? I've seen they've wanted to implement it for years but nothing more than "we're working on it" has been said.

    Good promotion but:

    :'(

Also servers with UK location do appear status "RESTOCKING" 4 months.. :-/ Really quite long restocking.. It will be done this year ever?

  • Would love to see some deals back for Kimsufi too.

  • Still 250Mbps.. :|

  • 1333mhz RAM is disappointing to see on the ovh special deals else might of been tempting.

  • xetsysxetsys Member

Would have jumped from hetzner but then I saw the 250Mbps network. May be SYS and OVH should offer a gigabit at least.

Kimsufi is already cheap enough, not sure why anyone would need a discount.

Are you talking about So you Start offers ?
There are available in Canadian website, but not in the Canadian Datacenter

    https://www.soyoustart.com/ca/en/essential-servers/

For OVHcloud offers (even if they are called SYS..) its available in all websites, and on Canadian datacenter.

How do you select which dc to choose in France (RBX,GRA,SBG) at SyS? I can only select "France (for faster delivery)", not the specific data center location...

  • twiigltwiigl Member

Simply. on SoYouStart you don't choose the datacenter, just the country.
Most of the time it will be actually setup in RBX, sometimes GRA but this depends of availability and model. Provisioning in SBG is very unlikely actually

    Thanked by 1OhJohn
  • boerndboernd Member

You can't select the datacenter but you can check the availability in each datacenter on the product detail page using the network tools in your Browser.
There is an XHR request to a file called "availabilities".
For example it shows that the E3-SAT-1-16 is only available in RBX but not in GRA or SBG.

Yes please, a decent flash sale on Kimsufi. In the past it occurred frequently, now it has been a loooong time ago ..

Superb customer intelligence. Thank you for this tip.

  • I can confirm it is not possible to use the full 1Gbit bandwidth at Hetzner 24/7. I've had multiple servers that either got limited or I got abuse complaints stating my servers were negatively impacting their infrastructure. With OVH if you have a server with regular 250/500Mbps bandwidth, there are no complaints if you max it out majority of the time. OVH runs with full 1Gbit only if you purchase the extra bandwidth. Atleast they are upfront about the "guaranteed" bit now.

However I'm not a fan of OVH after I got screwed 2 years ago when they limited several of my servers without notice. I was promised refunds that I never received, and in the end a $1000 commercial gesture that I never got either.

OVH's management is some of the worst I've ever seen, so now I pick up the OVH servers from a reseller called Andy10gbit.

With Andy10gbit the servers work fine and I don't have to deal with OVH's bullshit, plus I can pay in Crypto and not on the freaking 1st of each month. I absolutely hated their auto-renewal setup, and as I was leaving they introduced the contract system, which I see in this thread is making life easy for customers a lot haha

Honestly I'd be happier if Hetzner introduced a paid option to upgrade to 1Gbit dedicated and guaranteed bandwidth, I'd happily fork it out. I like that they are to the point and straightforward, and the billing is not on the 1st of each month. Paying them in crypto is a long shot but at least they have some of the cheapest hardware prices on the market. Comparing the new limited edition SYS-2 to the SX63 is just laughable.

What models are the motherboards ? Wooden or... ?

  • Not all LE in OVH/SYS are worth but some LE are just amazing for its price.

I think KS is going to be vanished soon looking at how they can't refresh the stock for last couple of months. Or otherwise better hw replacement.
