Rocky Linux 8.4 Available Now

An interesting replacement for AlmaLinux and Centos. Now just wait for the hosts to add images to their systems :)

For me, I would probably use AlmaLinux or Oracle. I still normally use CentOS 7.

QuickPacket has added it to the order form along with AlmaLinux.

  • I would definitely love to

I definitely won't use AlmaLinux as there is an employee of cPanel in the governing board, so Rocky Linux is very welcome!

Is he still active at cPanel?

Yes, he has been involved as a consultant for this reason, as declared by Igor in a post in WHT.

"We thought a representative from cPanel would be very helpful, as cPanel is still used by the majority of hosting providers."

What possible difference could that make? Why do you care?

    • He can't dictate any changes to Alma because it's got to be "RHEL recompiled"
    • cPanel doesn't make any money from Alma (in fact, no one does)
  • in fact horse is a horse,
    but who's riding ……
