Looking for powerful server in europe (~50€/month)

afnafn Member

Hi,
I am looking for a server with a pricing close to Hetzner with powerful CPU:

  • 6 or 8 cores.
  • I7/I9 or amd ryzen.
  • 1 gbps (25-35 TB traffic per month)
  • location : Europe (FR, Fr, RO, PL, NL, etc)
  • preferably but not a must : gpu
  • Storage: around 2TB HDD and would be great if there is a small ssd 240GB or even 120)

Currently I found a couple of options:

  • Hetzner: AX41 amd ryzen 5 6 cores for 34 Finland/39 DE + 5€ for SSD ==> 40ish,
probably best value for price, but I want to try another provider + would love to avoid the setup fees... I already have a couple of servers with hetzner.

  • Oneprovider: Dusseldorf Ryzen 7 1700X :2TB for 37€ good price, but no SSD

  • skynode: Ryzen 7 2700 or ryzen 5 3600 + they can add 2TB HDD for 7€ + I think they have GPU so might be worth the couple of extra bucks, never tried their services though.
  • ikoula : several options

Are there any providers who can offer something similar for under 50€ per month?

I know my budget is not that big, but since I found a couple of options within my price range I know it's not impossible...

Thanks in advance

    server @ php-friends:

    • vServer L AMD (8 dedicated Epyc cores, 40 GB RAM, 260 GB NVMe) → 27,99€ with VAT. / 22,70€ without.
    • 2 TB Samba Storage (SSD, ZFS, RAID10) not public, you have to write support → 17,90€ with VAT. / 14,50€ without.

    Located in maincubes, Frankfurt.

Server has 10 TB Traffic included, I'm pretty sure they will raise it.

    Total with VAT: 45,90 €
    Total without VAT: 37,20 €

@fendix thanks for the suggestion! I am definitely putting them on my list!
@mhosting_in I am not fan of the ovh in general nor the SYS's 250mbps... Thanks tho :)

    Thanks for the skynode review.

Online, sys and ovh are nowhere near my budget for their good servers. All their under 100€ servers are just shitty CPUs with no more than 4 cores.

@CiprianoOscar Thanks for mentioning webtropia, currently, they're probably the best price/value I can get. No setup fees, 44€ NVME+HDD. Great deal!

Do you have any idea how good their network is? or do they let me install custom os via KVM?

  • edited April 8

How about WorldStream? E2236 with additional drive for almost 50 EUR/mo. There is a setup fee if you pay monthy tho.

  • afnafn Member

Good option and I heard their network is great, but If I tweak it to add 32GB ram (my other options have 32 or even 64) and the extra drive, it would be around 60 and not to mention the setup fee. So for 60€ webtropia, skynode, and even hetzner with the setup fee win.

Btw, I checked euserv too but removed them from my list due to their high setup fee + I heard support and network are both much worse then hetzner.

At this point I think I came up with the best 3 budget providers, skynode, webtropia and hetzner

Thanks a lot @HostSlick I really appreciate that you took the time to post an offer!
Sadly, the CPUs in your offering are slightly older than what I am looking for and give a benchmark of around 10k... So ryzen wins here... or modern i7 ones specially with iGPU...
However kudos for the location, AMS servers for these specs are usually more expensive! I will surely contact you for my next server!

@spectraip may I ask, does your offer have a gpu?

So far I narrowed down my choices to:

OneProvider, 38€: Dusseldorf Ryzen 7 1700X :2TB HDD + NVIDIA GPU (the GPU is a very g great dition, although they will charge an extra 20€/month for the SSD)
Spectraip, 45€: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 , 2TB HDD+ SSD, the NL location is a huge plus, but I guess no GPU, waiting for their answer to confirm.

So far it seems I will have to choose between the SSD or the GPU. (not complaining tho, for my budget it's very understandable to have to make a choice and not get a package with everything)

We have a GPU from the motherboard (ASRock Rack X470D4U):

    Graphics
    Controller - ASPEED AST2500
    VRAM - DDR4 16MB

This is a server motherboard with server GPU, because we prefer to have server-grade motherboards for our servers..
