for the moment the vm will be suspended until next cycle.

This is because of e1000 network device. Switching to virtio should improve performance by a lot.

    cool 😎

Does this speed on the secondary drive look normal?
It seems a bit too slow.

in the empty node the results was =
+500 but like always when we sell storage all people is save data like crazy so you can wait 1-2 weeks to be in normal numbers.

I'm thinking that it might be cause by using virtio-block instead of virtio-scsi. Are you able to add that option in the control panel?
Also, in Proxmox/WHCMS, you are able to limit the per VM write/read speed. Maybe you can limit it to prevent abuse. I know other providers do use that option.
Because ~30MB/s is a bit too low.

Also, what is the RAID setup on these drives?

  • Have all of these VPS been delivered?

  • @Quartermaster said:

    Definitely not :o

That seems completely at odds with what the QEMU blog states: https://www.qemu.org/2021/01/19/virtio-blk-scsi-configuration/

Is this based from your own experience?

I'm just following the best practices according to Proxmox official documentation.
I've always used virtio-scsi so I don't know how it compares to virtio-blk

I'd love to, but that's my next thing to be done. Added the drive within WHMCS,
but can't see it in Debian (neither after reboot).

    (parted) print devices
    /dev/sda (53.7GB)

holy... these speeds are insane, but im still waiting my vm ~.~

  • @BBTN

I found if you used IDE you had to Stop the VM then Start for the Drive to show - not reboot.
If I used Virtio it showed straight away.

yes ifi will see this shit continue frist what i willdo i willlimit the port speed and you will see how this improove. Because we just suspend 2 users who was make +5gbps constantly , i understand people is coping his data but the port is not dedicated for one vm.

Sorry the space .... my keyboard is fucked and i am out ... so this weekend working with this shit keyboard.
