  • Nice, just out of curiosity are you using Gluster for storage? Since ceph doesn't support RDMA.

Can you please explain what this means to a n00b that doesn't really understand this stuff? Does it mean I can use my BuyVM anycast addresses for load balancing across multiple VPSes? Is it round robin or could it be based on server load?

  • LV very prem!

  • Slabs can be attached to 512mb slice right?

    I did.

Yes they can be attached to a 512 mb or any slice.

    Same question :+1:

@Francisco any docs to read more about this? and how it works?

    @ferri said: Same question

It's just packet roundrobin based on hashing. It's unaware of server load nor does it do any health checks of any kind. Adding/revoking of servers from the 'pool' is all done by announcing/revoking the IP from your BGP session with us.

  • @Francisco , what is the difference if I purchase directly from here to the website?
If I visit the link of both plans, it goes to same cart configuration "Luxembourg - AMD RYZEN KVM - LU RYZEN KVM 1GB". Almost same specs but maybe it's on the CPU? here its 1/4 core, in website its 1 core.

    Plans in this thread
    SLICE 1024

    • ¼ Core @ 3.9+ GHz on a Ryzen 3900X CPU!
    • Fair Share CPU Usage
    • 1024 MB Memory
    • 20 GB NVME Storage
    • 1000Mbit Unmetered Bandwidth!
    • 1 IPv4 Address
    • $3.50/month - Las Vegas / New York / Luxembourg

    Plans in https://buyvm.net/kvm-dedicated-server-slices/
    What is the CPU here?
    SLICE 1024
    1 Core @ 3.50+ GHz
    Fair Share CPU Usage
    1024 MB Memory
    20 GB SSD Storage
    Unmetered Bandwidth
    1 IPv4 Address
    $3.50 per month

    Thanks!

    Hello,

I haven't updated the site to show that we're using Ryzen 3900x's yet :) We were waiting on LU to be done that way there wasn't any cries of false advertising and all that.

Thanks. does this mean most of the plans 1024 will have Ryzen 3900x with ¼ Core?

@ravenchad said: Thanks. does this mean most of the plans will have Ryzen 3900x with ¼ Core?

The 1GB plan will have 1/4 of a core. The bigger the plan the more dedicated CPU you get.

The CPU isn't capped, it's there more incase you slam the CPU 24/7 and we do enforce a cap.

    Francisco

at least a location closer to countries in Southeast Asia, or any location with the best route (lower latency) to Indonesia. my hetzner cloud in falkenstein is ~ 170 ms, online.net dedibox paris is ~ 166 ms, but buyvm vegas is ~ 210 ms and lux is ~ 257 ms to jakarta
