Epyc is made for enterprises, while the 3900X is a Ryzen, which is technically consumer (Threadripper is prosumer). Also, the AX161 allows for significantly more variation in specifications.
Honestly, if you don't need customisations, the AX61-NVMe is probably the best high end dedi available right now.
I am aware. Though, alot of my applications are very cpu hogging.
3900 passmark : 30645 : https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+Ryzen+9+3900&id=3575
7502p passmark : 47949 : https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+EPYC+7502P&id=3538
Hetzner says only 27437 for 7502p..
I am confused.
Forgot to reply, Hetzner doesn't update the benchmarks. That result was probably added when there were very few processors tested. Now, with a reasonable amount of tests done, it's showing the correct results. However, you should also consider the other AX dedis, all of them are very good from a bang for buck perspective.
