I challenge you to find a host as reliable as them in these prices ranges before demanding more locations. They have done plenty of promos in other locations, but they operate mostly in Europe.

I really can not understand the level of inappreciation here. One of the most reliable providers I have ever used, offers 4G RAM with 50G NVMe for about $3/m on anything other than annual billing, yet there are weird requests or comments below the promo.

Please, just take a look at their profile and see how often they do promos anyway before asking for something completely different (hint: they basically do twice per year, and this is the first. If what you’re looking for isn’t available, wait for BF).

  • t0ny0t0ny0 Member

So I was thinking about getting one, just so I can test how reliable the provider is.
Then I realized that I have had 2 VMs with them for about 2 years now, that are still up and running with 0 downtime. I just forgot that I purchased them from UltraVPS.
Now thats what I call reliable. Multiple thumbs up!!

  • imokimok Member

Awesome. Hope to see something similar in US soon.

  • OujiOuji Member

Forgot to mention that I also have a service with them and it is extremely reliable. Never let me down and the pricing is amazing. I've been with them for more than one year already.

Nice offer, too bad that traffic from the two largest ISP’s in The Netherlands is routed through Germany (either Cogent DUS or NTT FFM) and then back to The Netherlands. Both providers peer with Leaseweb, which is one of your uplinks.

    Maybe some prepending going on?

I'll be honest that I found it a bit underwhelming, too, for NVMe. It basically looks like a RAID-1 SSD I have on a dedicated server.

@sgheghele I think getting 26k IOps with 4k blocksize on a shared NVMe setup seems good enough ;-)
while with a single dedicated nvme you might see 50k+, I think it would be reasonable to not expect that here given the price and setup.

also with the bigger blocksizes you can see that the throughput/bandwidth easily reaches 1GB/s (combined) - which is pretty decent.

I think it also comes down a bit to how the systems are managed, maybe @UltraVPS imposes a (rather high ~25k) IO limit per VM, which on the other hand will make sure, that the storage system is better balanced if multiple guest at the same time start eating IO ;-)

Wait until your hot disk pages get good seats in the host's ARC cache(RAM : 5GB/s reads 😉)

Give the vps a consistent read-write workload and wait a few weeks.

    250GB USA RAID6 StorageKVM from €13/yr (no-torrenting, TopProvider)

Who do you have as upstream in AMS other than HE ?

I can do: Gentoo & Debian with security and performance in mind

Its not cheaper as many of you are writing here , because it has no DDoS protection , 0 protection. Anyway you can find better specs in the market with same price and with Protection.

They are pretty transparent on their data centers and networks here: https://www.ultravps.eu/en/about-us

They don't have Hurricane Electric as an upstream. They use Core-Backbone and Leaseweb (Fiberring) in Amsterdam, with additional connectivity from DTAG, Cogent and NTT from Germany.

Also good news for Dutch customers: routing to and from KPN and Ziggo has been optimized and no longer travels through Germany!
