BuyVM everything out of stock?

0xbkt0xbkt Member

It this because they are simply out of stock, not because of a transient issue, and I can't buy? I'm asking here because I need VM fast and I can't wait for support to come back.

1st & 7th are the biggest restock days, but stuff does pop up in between (and throughout the month).

Yeah, Fran built a custom ISO feature into Stallion a couple weeks back.

Also stallion has 2FA login now, and Vegas has VM snapshots + you can add on regular backups (3x weekly) for 10% of VM cost (other locations will get it as they upgrade to Ryzen).

NYC getting Ryzen upgrades this month/August, block storage slabs, network upgrades + NYIIX peering being turned up, etc.

Fair! That's another thing i've hopefully made improvements to overall. Vegas had some bad luck with some line cards but flood leaks are properly handled now.

@Shot2 said: Wait wut they have iso uploading now?

Yep, works pretty wizard too if you ask me.

I intend to do another email blast soon for ISO's & 2FA. I'm just finishing a lot of cleanup. Changed how anycast/floating IP's are handled instead of the clunky setup I originally built.

Need to be quick if you want to order from Buyvm as they go fast. Managed to pick up another slice and slab yesterday. Just noticed there are few slabs available right now if any one is in need.

  • I admit I've been sitting on 3x 1GB slices, but that's only because I have yet to get my intended AnyCast project setup.

BuyVM is like affordable price with premium features and helpful support.
Few months ago I got 2 slice(s) for my clients. It runs smooth. Good speed, etc. only few hiccups on HE network here and there and some line card issue (but that seems to be sorted out quickly). I've also a DA reseller on their LV node.. its still sitting on old E5 and they're upgrading it to Ryzen (I caught that chat on Discord) this month. I hope LUX will also get Ryzens and i'll get DA or slice over there too!

Haha :) I think the only major features we'll be lacking past BGP is ECMP for users to do load balancing and hourly billing.

ECMP will come down the road, not far off.

Still not sure if we'll want to dive into hourly billing.

It's not really relevant to me (I've been with BuyVM for 5 years and not had a DDoS yet) but out of curiosity, I'm assuming there won't be an option for prefixes announced via BGP to go via Voxility/be protected? That sounds like it could get expensive fast

We don't use Voxility for customer subnets anymore.

We'll offer CF but it's not going to be a $3 thing, it'll be more like $3/mbit, 100mbit minimum.

We would hit critical mass, but doing hourly would blow well past that all :)

If WHMCS 8 goes the way I'm expecting then building billing/hourly/etc into stallion is just a matter of time.

Figured I'd give some peaks into what it'll look like in Stallion.

The configure button lets you set your table view ("No routes" or "Full Table", putting "default" makes no sense since users will already have a default route active) as well as changing what IP addresses the BGP sessions are configured to.

I got the BGP server built out earlier with most of its API done as well. I just need to finish integration into the Stallion front end. Past that I just need the RPKI cron and a couple node side changes to allow the subnets to pass packets.

I think we could have it in alpha/etc this weekend even.

Basically. It also gives the customer a basic reading comprehension test :P If they fail those couple steps then they probably shouldn't be doing a manual OS install and instead ticket us for help.

Things are looking good on the BGP front! I'm going to do another pass today to get a final bug list but i'm grasping at straws at this point.

The RPKI route importers in place, still deciding how often to fire it but it'll be at least once a day automagically.
