Github Student Pack!

fofojofofojo Member

Hi, I am an A level Student and I recently got my Github Student Pack. I am using my Azure and DO credits for hosting my Blogs. So, I just want help in How to utilise it in a productive way like I could learn something which has great scope ahead. I have some basic Python skills from O levels and Nothing much. So, can anyone guide me from their experiences about what to do with it like learn some thing new so that I can look for it as a source of income in future.
Thanks in Advance!

You say you're an A Level student but you write like you're a BTEC student.

Please do not try to change the meaning on my thread. All I am asking is to utilise the Github Student pack in a productive manner. And I am not asking from negative minded people like you. :)

Welcome to LET! You should start thickening your skin if you wish to post here.

What a response like the ones above might mean:

You should help us to help you. The pack has so much stuff in it (for the lazy ones) that you can possibly do any job in any CS related field if you master even half of them. What are you interested in, mostly? You know, networks, Web development, architectures, infrastructure, virtualization, ...

I have a little experience in Web development like Static HTML pages but I want to try something New like App development in the Cloud and yes the Pack has a lot of stuff but I have no idea about almost half of them. But my question is that what you would do (or had done) if you have this Pack even if you have no experience in this field other than simple Python programming on Repl.it?

If you're not willing to look up each technology/service and read a page about it to understand what it's about, a career in IT is not for you. IT is not a field where you train once and then are set for life. It's a career where you read and self-train every single day.

So my advice is to read up on each technology and see which interests you. Then you can come back with a more focused question. What you're asking right now is "someone please design a career for me so that it makes lots of money and I can spend as little itme as possible learning."

That's adult speak right there for you, kiddo. You go read up and pick something to level up to the highest levels of that chosen path. You can make lots of money in any damn field so long as you are the best in that field and remain the best in the field. Rather than asking what should I learn, you should be asking how the hell can I be the best in what I choose to do? If you are always asking how you can be the best and letting that drive you, you have nothing to worry because no matter what you change to, you will be the best in class and rich people want to pay for nothing short of the best in class.

Exactly what @raindog308 said. Just try to start your own little projects for fun, thats where you learn the most anyhow. I guess thats how most of us got in the software engineering at some point.

Btw. I'd try to avoid using local terms when talking writing to an international audience (such as LET): I - for example - had no clue what an A level or an O level student is. (Well, Google told me it's some UK specific term, but not everybody is gonna googling that for you.)

Anal and Oral. All UK students are prepped for careers in porn.
