Unmanaged fiber hand-off question

Hello all,
I have "unmanaged fiber" at one of my locations with 5 static IPs and the provider (AT&T ADI) has delivered the following provisioning information:

Local IP Gateway: 12.X.194.9
First Assignable: 12.X.194.10
Usable IP Range: 12.X.194.10-12.X.194.14
Broadcast IP Address: 12.X.194.15
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.248
WAN CR Serial IP Address: 32.X.211.114/30
WAN AR Serial IP Address: 32.X.211.113/30
WAN IP Address: 32.X.211.112/30

I have tried everything to get this setup working, but I cannot figure out how to use these 5 assignable IPs. I am able to get the router (pfsense) online using 32.X.211.114 with a default gateway of 32.X.211.113/30, but how can I use the 12.X.194.10/29 block?

From what I understand, there needs to be a Cisco box managing this block behind the provider equipment, but I'm sure the same can be done using pfSense.

Can someone point me in the right direction please and I'll host you for free ;-)

They routed your subnet to the link zip.

Just bring 12.X.194.9/29 on your inside interface and it should do.

  • Then I guess my question is, how can I switch NAT settings on pfSense, since the default config would not route the 12.X but rather translate the addresses to 32.X

You should not use NAT. Bring up another interface on the pfsense and allocate IP addresses from 12.X to your inside equipment and set their default gw to the pfsense 12.X IP.
