It’s because most of the cost is in the IP :)
Maybe I’ll double during Black Friday haha

BF is so far... I hope, you don't forget, or I will remind you about 8GB version!

  • @Cam - care to share a little on the host node config + setup? CPU, disk configuration types and RAID (if at all), kernel (with OVZ 7 I think there are different ones floating around)? This being real IPv4, do you support a reverse DNS setup? What about for IPv6?

A sample bench would be great.

    Thanks in advance.

@MohamadSY pretty much summed it up!
There is no Raid on these LVZ's at this time however weekly backups are taken for all servers.
I will accept IPv4 and IPv6 reverse DNS requests via ticket. However, Please note port 25 is blocked by default. I am open to unblocking it for servers with legitimate email sending needs however I would prefer for people to use external mail servers. To keep the IP's clean on an $8/year VM.

Oh and the kernel is, 3.10.0-1062.12.1.vz7.131.10

I don’t like offering swap because it will degrade disk performance.

Has the price been raised for the 256mb version because I see 12 instead of 8 now ? & no matter what hostname I fill in the form the error keeps repeating

    It'd change back to $8.

I do not know why, but my experience with another OpenVZ 7 ( from at @anyNode ) ended up with OpenVPN not working on it.

Because I appreciate @Cam for his services provided so far, and I can appreciate his passion for computers, I did not wish to even think of a refund, therefore I tried to find another purpose my new VPS: I created a SearX instance.

I do not know if Shadowsocks works on this VPS, but my solution within anyNode was to not use OpenVPN, so I used Shadowsocks there. If anyone can please test Shadowsocks on these servers, it would be a nice feedback for replacement of OpenVPN within OpenVZ 7 containers.

@Cam - if you can not find a solution to OpenVPN in OpenVZ 7, just create a template for Shadowsocks (or something else) so people can deploy VPN easy.

Fastmako (aff) - great VPS for your needs.
