Most likely not gonna happen at Contabo pricing. Although not bad, you get what you pay for.

  • It may help if you can say exactly what specifications you're looking for as you mention both SSD VPS and storage VPS? Although there are very few providers, even round these parts that compete with contabo pricing.

  • Closest pricing to Contabo that I know of is Time4VPS on their OVZ servers. Depending on your budget you might just be better off with a hetzner auction server. Perhaps give us more information such as what specs you need?

    For pricing, don't know.
But you can use hetzner cloud if you really need an reliable alternative with reasonable pricing

  • No! there are no alternatives unless they're smaller companies looking for a business or using older hardware

You get what you pay for; Right?
Switch to a shared hosting plan, then it may fit your budget.

Sorry to steal this thread (ultimately it is not so old), but I just wanted to ask the same: I'm looking for some alternative to Contabo's VPS300 (4GB ram, 300GB hdd, 50€/y). Is there anything like that? Disk could be smaller, I need just about 100GB...

I'd take Contabo immediately, but 100mbit port speed is really slow these days (my home internet connection is faster) and to pay 3x more just to get 1gbit port makes no sense.

You get what you pay for; Right?

I'm fully aware of this. I'm looking for vps to run nextcloud, and if there is some network problem and my pc/cellphone gets synced one hour later is no big problem for me...

edit: I forgot to mention EU is preferred...

If you are not in a hurry, maybe you can keep Contabo until you find a better deal? With the specs you mentioned it seems like Netcup Karnaval deal would have been perfect for you. Not available anymore but they'll likely offer something similar again in the future (we don't know when!). If you want to switch now, I doubt you're gonna find a better deal at "normal" pricing. Either you wait and regularly look for offers in the hope to find a better deal, or you sleep well knowing that your Contabo VPS fits your needs, even if its network ain't as fast as you'd like it to be.

Do you really need 4GB of RAM? If not, it could open up more possibilities.

LetBox Box VPS? Yearly pricing for a custom E5 (2vCore/4GB RAM/20GB NVMe + 125GB HDD/5TB@1Gbps) is 55 dollars, just over your budget.

Contabo is on it own league, hard to beat that price for all they gives., The only negative I see is the set-up waiting time, old control panel, high price for extra IP.

  • Contabo alternative?
With the same quality comes to mind only burstNET
