What do you want to see from a new Ransom IT offer in Sydney?

I want to offer another deal and submit it to LEB. What do people want to see from an Australian offer? This'll be in my new Sydney location at Equinix SY3 on the Servers Australia network (AS45671).

I like to keep things simple with 2 or 3 options for LEB offers...

Some options:

a) 1GB KVM, 15GB disk, 100GB data
b) 1GB KVM, 10GB disk, 150GB data
c) 1GB KVM, 5GB disk, 200GB data
d) 512MB KVM, 10GB disk, 250GB data
e) 512MB KVM, 15GB disk, 200GB data
f) 512MB KVM, 20GB disk, 150GB data
g) 512MB KVM, 25GB disk, 100GB data

Or any other suggestions/requests/input?

All offers would be with 1 IPv4, 10 IPv6 and on a 100mbit port and cost $21 quarterly.

I'll also offer a deal in Adelaide for $13.50 quarterly with 512MB RAM, 5GB disk, 50GB data at the same time (also on a 100mbit port).

FWIW I have only had one offer here on LET in this location with 512MB KVM, 10GB disk, 200GB data on 200mbit port for $21 quarterly. The offers above I feel offer similar value to this.

No guarantees I will offer any of these exact specified plans... Just after some input first. :-)

Also a looking glass is here now for the new location: http://sydney-lg.ransomit.com.au/

  • D would be nice.

  • I would go for either A or D depending on other things.

  • Options B sounds very good! Matches the 512MB in disk space and almost in bandwidth but doubles the memory.

  • Well, (h) would be nice... yeah, it's not on the list yet ;)

    (h) 256MB KVM, 5GB disk, 50GB & 100GB data... quarterly, half yearly and yearly plans.

I mean, this is LET and many VPS "collectors" here. It's an occupational hazard ;) Also, lots of uses for a small VPS like that, where there is no need for bigger one. Just my 3 cents.

BTW, nice idea for a low key, under the radar promo, this post I mean ;)

  • A and E work for me

I agree, but I think Oliver said in another thread that IP pricing/limits prevent lower end offers.

    I'm sure he'd be happy to offer 256MB, 5GB, 50GB for $21/qtr anyway :)

  • Far more data!

Yes, I'm aware. But here he asked: "What do people want to see from an Australian offer?". Doesn't mean it has to be RansomIT or Sydney specifically (although I'm personally interested in Sydney for marketing reasons). Hence my post above ;)

That is heaps of data for what you would be paying!

  • do a traceroute to see where your routing -- sounds like it's bouncing off US to hit Aussie from Indo.

Some Indonesian connectivity is actually better to my Adelaide location because it goes to Singapore -> Perth -> Adelaide. Can you try the Adelaide location to compare? http://adelaide-lg.ransomit.com.au/

Please show a traceroute as well as dano suggested.

Will think about an OpenVZ offer as well soon... In the new year I might be able to offer some more LEB like deals with good yearly payments (under $4 USD a month) but not at this point.

Sign ups for OpenVZ are so low now though compared to KVM plans...
