Cheapest E3 in North America?

Like the title says, I'm looking for the cheapest E3 dedi in North America. This is just for a personal server and I don't care too much about RAM or storage or anything else.

The best I've found is $49 at WSI for an E3 1230 v2. Is that the best deal out there (entirely possible), or does anyone know of a better one?

  • No, that's the cheapest public offer.

Means we can PM you for a better deal? :p

Well, I do not sell them for $49 anymore :p So no.

  • Would E3-1220 V3 work for you?

Depending on the price, yeah, definitely.

$49/month, E3-1220 V3, 8GB RAM, 5TB @ 100mbit, /29 IPs. You have to pay and order in though. We have limited supply so it goes fast.

That'd be a tempting deal if the E3-1230 v2 wasn't the same price at WSI. Thanks, though.

What's your point? Obviously the v3 is more powerful..

  • The difference between v2 and v3 is very small. Maybe like 5%.

IIRC it was 30%. IMO not worth the added power usage though.

If it's a personal box, you'd better go with Cloud Shards. Don't mind the CPU difference. You'd get much better support and much better network.

  • Yup, I'd suggest @Dylan go with Cloud Shards. Btw, @cloudshards, what DC are these servers in?

It's a promo for now. As to how it fits in - we have some density high power gear in the racks with some rack space left, so just finding some lower powered servers to fill it in.

WSI's offer on their E3-1230v2 is nice with the memory and dual HDD's. For being a budget provider, they do provide a pretty decent network.

I know ReliableSite (based in New York metro) has offered their E3-1230v3 for $59 sometimes, for that price and their impressive network, that's a steal.
