Shared hosting options

Hey guys, my site was running under N3, but they're suddenly gone.
I had this available to me:
30Gb, 2 domains + 1 subdomain, softaculous, bandwidth in the hundreds gbs mark, 2,5 USD/year.

What do you guys suggest for a similar cost? I can go down on the storage (maybe a few Gbs are enough) and bandwidth, I run 3 wordpress sites. Low traffic. A fast server is important, so wordpress won't hang for a few seconds for each action.

Have buyshared and myw and Both were great for basic wordpress sites. Obviously watch plugin count but shouldn't be an issue

$2.50/year will get you nothing of any quality.

Increase your budget to at least $15/year for a LowEnd plan with 1-2GB disk - anything below that just wouldn't be sustainable. You could also try offloading some of your larger images to BunnyCDN storage.

    There's https://www.hostkoala.com/ssd-hosting.html

They resell Buyshared for some locations. I never tried them. The DirectAdmin plans are low $.

Do you really need 30GB? That's the most expensive part of the requirements you listed.

  • I use stablehost. But I don't mind paying them 20/yr or whatever it is for the unlimited domains plan

  • Jord said: What location are you after @popogama?

South USA or Latin America would be the best. N3 had great speeds recently, I guess they were on Miami.

dahartigan said: What's your budget @popogama?

I was expecting to pay something around what I was paying (2,5USD, maybe a bit more for a more reliable server).

I could work with 1 or 2 Gb actually. I only leave wordpress and basic images on the host. The bigger images I upload elsewhere.

ServedEz.com :) I promise you, you will get better bang for free vs paying $1/year :)

  • You can try checking out some most recommended/cheapest providers online, from what I've got it's
    DreamHost - Wordpress hosting $5,95/month 3year
    Bluehost - Wordpress hosting $5,95/month 3year
Hostinger - I think wordpress hosting is same as shared $2,15/month 4year
    Siteground - Wordpress hosting $5,95/month 3 year

The list goes on and on so feel free to search more, looks like there is a lot of choices, but for the price that you are Iooking I only found a few.

  • @loydtoon said:

Those providers are only the most recommended because they pay the most to 'hosting review' sites. I'd strongly advise against Bluehost or Hostinger. Siteground is a maybe.

There are a lot of really good hosting providers who can probably accommodate the OP. Some questions he has got to answer are:

    • Do you really need 30GB storage?
    • Do you really need that much bandwith?
    • What is a realistic budget for this?

Then just check @Ympker's list for a provider that fits you.

I would not suggest Bluehost, and Siteground is OK for those that need lots of handholding. I administer Siteground for a customer and it is solid, no downtime, but expensive compared to similar quality hosts. They have their own panel now
for new customers. I haven't used it. Older accounts are still cPanel.

Feel free to check us out, starting at $4/year https://inspireshared.com/personal.html

Is this legit? I entered the site and the first shared hosting option is free (NexusBytes)? How is that possible in the long run? Everyone is directing me to $3-5/month (I was paying $2,5/year), and this host is giving away hosting? What's the catch?

1Gb is probably enough for a long while.
    I need very low bandwidth.
I was paying 2,5 a year, worked for a year and a half before N3 exploded.

I’d recommend Smallweb.net by @Mic-hael. If 1GB is enough you’d pay ~$7,50 a year and you can always upgrade to 2 or 4 gigs if you need more.

@popogama I invite you to join SmallWeb and for your troubles I will refugee your $2.5/year costs for your indicated actual storage use of 1GB.

Other specs include DirectAdmin, 10 Domains, 250GB Bandwidth and Softaculous.

    Hey!
Sorry for not responding earlier. This is something I do as an way to give to the internet community:). I try to compete with guys who offers service for an$1 or 2 per year because, to be honest, after the fees, it might as well be free :).

Try it out. You literally got nothing to lose

Well I was digging a bit more about it since you activated my curiosity.
    So, what he needs is:

Siteground, Hostinger, these seem like good deals. Although, Sitegrund is a bit out of his budget but it's very known and Hostinger fits these features, since it's not much that he needs. His needs are kind of basic so I don't see why not.
