I can currently only think of OVH, namecheap and Hetzner. Any others?

Wouldn't "shared hosting" imply web hosting through a panel like cPanel or whatever?

    Define "large provider".

CrocWeb and HostMantis offer ssh access to their shared but you probably don't consider them "large".

We aren't large and allow SSH :joy:

We have around 1000 active clients. Probably not considered large, but we offer ssh on shared.

Dreamhost - Cue mandatory affiliate link - https://www.dreamhost.com/r.cgi?225618

You can do virtually anything that a Fast CGI based on any uncommon language can do. I even got Elixir/Erlang installed once, but I never get the FastCGI working, but that was an Elixir thing not a Dreamhost thing.

Perhaps you can try a Lisp or Lua based [Fast]CGI.

It can be quite good if you want to try stuff quickly. It saves the hassle of administering your own server with security etc. Performance may be suspect if you are an old node, AND THEY DO have some old nodes around.

But I will be quitting soon. You can get more RAM and more power and space on a VPS for the $10.95 monthly they charge, unless unlimited downloads are a thing for you.

  • Inmotion Hosting does as well.

  • Boxne. They also have a 5-year plan that is super cheap on stacksocial.
