Current VM specs are set to give every user the same opportunities. Also allows me to allocate more VMs with what's available.

Had set up a 'slitaz' VM early in the morning, but the alpine one is cool too. Except for having to correct 'apt' to 'apk' :-) will post test results separately

Thank you! I was wondering why apt or yum wasn't working. When I saw online to use apk, I didn't trust it since it was too similar to android apps extension (APK).

lol... there was a time when I used to think alpine Linux was derived from arch linux, so my first step was to type
    sudo pacman....
which of course did not work, had to look up the alpine package management page
great start to Monday morning learnt something new :-)

  • Should be a way to delete/free your VM if you are finished with it.

@Pentium44 You cannot just be nice to people and give them free stuff...
I've tried, it's just a waste of time and effort, not to mention money.
They shall undermine and abuse you.
It's like giving a pig an open buffeT. It'll just eat and shit all over the place.
You must be tough but fair with them.
Like, here's a vps, but i am taking away your cookie.
    "Waaa, i want my cookie!"
    - You should've thought about that before you ate that vps!
    - You want another one? But i am taking away that tuna fish can as well.
"Nah, i'll be modest and good."
Then he will know to appreciate the vps, since it costed him being hungry.
Plus you'll filter out most abusers.
    Plus you'll have cookies.
And by gathering too many cookies you might eventualy achieve world domination.

    Thanked by 1ITLabs
  • Alpine linux LXC image size is 2.3 MB... Thats a full linux in 2.3 MB size!

  • I think you should make the used passwords a little bit more random. I think quite a few users won't change the password or at least forget to change the passwort of the 'user'-user.
