what happened to Quantum Core thread?

Thread seems to be deleted. Is it because it violated rule or because provider turned out to be fake/scam?

Pretty sure it was shared to the Chinese community and you know what happen next.

That's pretty sad, I am still thinking to go for it but too late.

    :(

  • Interesting..

@QuantumCore seemed positive that they will continue this promotion for a while. I guess it didn't last that long.

Well, not especially the Chinese, I had that same problem with the Arabs.
At least a GeoBlock could hold it for a bit.

really which country had the most requests/signups?

I don't mind if they signup for it, but NOT with fake details, NOT for illegal usages, and NOT with multiple accounts.

I am sick of some of them selling all those free trial accounts, or even applying for tons of them.

Sometimes I wish I work for those big cloud providers, I will clean up all those shit accounts even if I am not getting paid.

In total I found 6 youtube videos.
4 of 6 where Arabic, which came easy to 20k views in total.

After that these videos got so many views, things started to turning to shit.
    DDoS, Insults, threats.

Since people in these videso, handed out false information like candy, and these people do not speak English, things happend.

So I ended up with a GeoBlock, after a while they started bypassing it with VPN's so we blocked these also.
I would say easily 60-70% at that time.

    There was a quantum anomaly

sorry to hear that. I will ask some links in pm just interested to know what are they doing.

  • They should have placed some restriction like only for LET users with 30 posts and signed up at least 3 months before (or something like that). Also do manual verification when running a promotion.

They should have paid @FAT32 a lowend idling box for his expertise.

Yes, I guess you could say it worked too well :) There was crazy demand from both legit users and fake users. It was an awesome success.

We plan to resume this soon... after we review our sign up process and implement more restrictions + fraud protection.

    Sorry all for the disappointment.

  • Are we there yet?

I've been using them for a few months... They're definitely not a scam! Kinda sad I missed out on this promotion, but then again I did get a half price VPS for a year (one of their original promotions) which I'm still happy with.

I've had my $5 VPS running for a day now, as a remote desktop. Always been looking for an excuse to play with x2go, and as it turns out, this particular VPS is not blocked by a particular tv network here so I can use it to get episodes of the bachelorette for my wife nice and early which keeps her happy.

Best $5 I've spent in the past 24 hours lol

Edit: I forgot to mention, performance and network are very nice! I was worried it would be slow to be honest due to possibly being swamped by the chinese, but it's actually decent.

Thanks for the kind words! We monitor the network closely :) Quick to remove the abusers.

Hey :) Very happy customer here, I took the deal the first time around and I'm very impressed with the server - extremely reliable and never slow.

I have a question, could you please confirm that this new 60 day expiration only applies to the new promo, and that those of us who took the original promo are able to keep our credits?

No worries! :D I just really wanted to double check, plus now it saves someone else asking - we can all refer to that post :)

EDIT: I also hope that you have managed to find a way to curb the abuse, it's a crying shame that people abuse things like this.
