Are you promoting your Speedtest script or offering services via PM ?

    Hi,

I have a storage vps that I don't need anymore

@vyas11 - I think they are "offering" to pass along a HostHatch special from last year (I have one and can confirm that it's an excellent deal)

Generally okay-ish if the person offering is (more or less) a known quantity but it is indeed a grey area.

@SpeedTest if I might suggest may be best practice to check with a mod, confirm with HostHatch that transfer is okay, and open a separate thread for any responses / discussion rather than dealing exclusively via PM ... (Not necessarily in that order.)

If nothing else, doing things this way will avoid setting a bad example and possible precedent as we occasionally do see a minor deluge of these types of solicitations from new members here, sometimes tumbling down a slippery slope, possibly to a messy end.

That said it could be a very nice deal if someone doesn't want until Black Friday to see what else might be in the pipeline from @Abdullah and company. :)

@uptime I wish I had your high threshold of tolerance against mischievous kids.

In this post and a previous one,
Posting aff links without disclosure. And now the offer for sale raises some questions. No declaration or intent or clarifications in this discussion either

Speed test might mean well and be genuine but I apply the caveat emptor filter first

p.s: the deal indeed is seems awesome

Actually I tried vultr and digitalocean, and while they are ok, the prices cannot compare to what @Abdullah / HostHatch offers, and most importantly I have been using this provider for many years and they never failed me, the uptime was always good and also the network speeds.

I also purchased a plan from this offer (in UK) and all is working fine.

Hope @Abdullah will offer something interesting for Black Friday. Vpses in Europe would be nice. Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands.

  • I'm hoping London will turn up again for Black Friday / Cyber Monday. Would like to get one to upload my music to it as I'm not going to have access to my desktop for quite a while (where my music currently is, and a shed load of CD's).

  • Hosthatch's benchmark are false and misrepresented here:
    https://hosthatch.com/benchmarks
It is a gimmick to make some sales.
You won't get any where near it IRL.

  • @manish you can be a @manish and tell @Abdullah directly

    P.S. stop taking drugs

  • Waiting for him to post his benchmarks

  • and don't give up therapy.

  • Get something new to say. Drugs, drugs, drugs, is all you got.

I wish your parents taught you something.

  • Something new! Parents are involved now!

Holy shit batman! @manish where is the proof to back up your claim? Do you even own a hosthatch vps? Why ask why?

Not sure if he is @manish enough to pony up the proof.

  • @manish are you drunk or just PMS'ing?

unixbench 5.1.3 on one year old storage vps, 2 shared cores, 2GB RAM, no NVMe, debian, thx.

  • @Falzo he is not drunk, just druggished, then he wonders why we make fun of him

well, there is a fundamental difference, instead of comparing with same RAM (hardware), he compared with same amount of money ($20) so definitely we can't compare benchmarks that way

and it is based on 2017, now DO offers 4GB for $20

but AGAIN, every sales websites compares as per their convenience, they ignore features which were better in competitor services....

The scary thing is what we are seeing is supposedly his normal self.

  • @PieHasBeenEaten I did with dedicated core but it was never fixed and support was rowdy enough to threaten me to not refund etc.

It is a service with fake benchmarks, they brag about it and don't have guts to prove it.

Here's a real bench randomly sampled from a couple of weeks ago and I am @manish enough to put out for evaluation:
