  • @jbiloh and @ColoCrossing are being prepared for IPv6 feature future.

    --- Edited ---

Looks like SSL doesn't work well with IPv6.

    Reverting back....please be patient...while our @SySadmin comes from IPv0 after-party.

  • Same problem here.

  • What do you expect ? it's hosted on $7 vps

    Thanked by 2ITLabs TimboJones
  • Working normal here/ now.

Anyhow, sometimes back someone did shared the basic infrastructure detail. I dont remember correctly but LET/B was hosted in some kind of cluster of 3 servers or whatever, just ignore. Enjoy Sunday.

For $7/m you can get decent servers nowadays .

    Anyway everything seems fine now

A quick update based on what I’ve been told:

    • Earlier today (~12:30 PM Eastern), someone decided to launch an attack on the new “infrastructure”
    • The DoS (Denial of Service) was caused by ~10-20 Mbit/s of rogue traffic (layer 7)

      • The webserver quickly became overloaded by a large number of requests to a vulnerable endpoint (Vanilla is an insecure POS)
    • The attack ended around an hour ago

Edit: made the attack type more clear.

  • It was down for me for 1-2 hours

Waaaait 10-20mbit was enough to kill the server??... So what then is the point of cloudflare then if barely any traffic kills it xD. Srsly that sounds like a 7$/yr vps of the finest quality lol

It was a DoS on the application layer (i.e. Vanilla).

Having said that, the 20 Mbit/s was the total BW being pushed per second by a (likely) few thousand requests.

not sure why you need to taped it? you don't really need a case to make the computer to function properly.

    Receiving 503 massage constantly..

  • Please setup haproxy with a 30 sec cache... This will instantly fix ddos attacks on layer 7.
I can help if needed :)

Probably one of the eighteen million or so skid hosts that can't get a provider tag, to peddle their garbage here.

And there's also that looney-tunes wannabe extortionist demanding ransom from various hosts here and then throwing wet noodles at their networks when their generous offer that can't be refused is, in fact, refused.
