    Download test...

    No TCP acceleration:
    http://kansas1.test.edkweb.biz/250Mb.test

    Has TCP acceleration:
    http://fi-le.info/files/Test/250Mb.test

All servers are from wholesale internet(kansas)

Please use single thread tool..such as ie, chrome
    It well?

  • $ wget http://kansas1.test.edkweb.biz/250Mb.test
% Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed Time Time Time Current
Dload Upload Total Spent Left Speed
    100 227M 100 227M 0 0 3847k 0 0:01:00 0:01:00 --:--:-- 3922k
    $ wget http://fi-le.info/files/Test/250Mb.test
% Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed Time Time Time Current
Dload Upload Total Spent Left Speed
    100 227M 100 227M 0 0 4085k 0 0:00:56 0:00:56 --:--:-- 5027k

The speed was more consistent on the first link.
The second one was more up and down so in the end didn't look that much faster. But was certainly much faster at times.

  • Interesting. The TCP acceleration worked great, but it did hiccup midway and freeze for a couple seconds, but it was going up to 20+MB/s

You need to set your putty encoding to UTF-8.

  • What are you using for TCP Acceleration?

  • I guess it's some sort of tweaks to the congestion avoidance algorithm.

    It is from china...

    right.

  • so hardware or software based?

    just install a software.

  • What software? Do you have a link?

It is not free..It can acceleration 30Mbps for 40$/year.

  • What's link?

  • even if it's not free ... they must have a website that sells it then. or are you saying it's a private web site?

    I offer it..

Are you sure you're just not purposely slowing down the "no TCP acceleration" thing? In TCP Vegas congestion control is automatic. Or are you just turning gzip on and off?

I don't think they are purposely slowing it down. The default algorithm usually targets a much wider general audience, but it's not optimal for all types of connections I guess.

@doughnet Seems that they do not have an English version...

TCP has no notion of applications, as they run on top of the TCP layer. To accelerate "TCP" means there's some OS level changes that are made that messes with the TCP protocol. I'm interested to find out what it is.
