Nice find. That's sick in deed!

    Good find,

I still wish there were more options in the GUI for Admins in DA.

Direct Admin v1.59 (22/09) has SSO for PHPMYADMIN. Was waiting for this for a long time

    Exactly.

But they are getting close. If the continue to bring up more features at the current rate, many more will install it in the following days.

We can only hope... I think it would make the server more manageable....

Tracing email issues is a pain....
in cPanel we could set email ports / plain text and ssl or not.
Selecting PHP modules is much easier in cPanel along with MariaDB upgrade.

I just feel a few more options would cut down on support for them.

I like DA and it does seem to work out the box..

Works pretty good :) Some minor changes I'd recommend but overall solid.

Looks like DA is getting premer by the release.

  • Had this blacklisting issue:
When using rspamd it claims to read user_prefs, but it does not respect any entries blocking a TLD.

    Maybe related to this(?):
    https://www.directadmin.com/features.php?id=2338

So for blocking a TLD, I should just add f.ex.
    .pro to user_prefs?

(It only matches at the end of the email address, not .pro elsewhere, right?)

    How about blocking *@*.somedomain.tld?
Just somedomain.tld? And just userpart@ instead of userpart@*.*? (The WebUI forces a more email like syntax, so I have to edit file manually.)

If you'd like to do a 'more advanced' whitelisting/blacklisting using regex globally, please use https://rspamd.com/doc/modules/multimap.html#regexp-maps.

  • Sorry, if it does not fit in this thread. Does anyone have the problem that Installatron can not create databases?

I am using the latest DA version and have tried it with the installatron edge + release update channel. Did some research + checked logs, the most obvious entry in the logs is "DirectAdmin API failed. Session: ...".

I'm considering contacting Installatron Support, but maybe someone already had the problem.

Well, all I want to do, is block some TLD's. Not sure that should be considered very advanced.
 The cPanel/spamassassin syntax does not work.

This multimap module, that's something server admin needs to add/setup? Or can I set this in my user config/config files?

I'm just a DA user, trying to block all the .pro TLD spam ...

The new update seems to be pretty good. Single sign on seems to work well!

I would love some more options in GUI and things a bit easier to read and laid out especially the SMTP in/out log, as well as having it in the admin section.

How’s every one else finding the new update?

Yes I did Lemme double check it

  • Pretty sure WHMCS maintains the default DA module and just an fyi, as of the most recent update, login to Directadmin button no longer works on chrome and because the code is encrypted, can't update it either :(

    • Evolution theme looks nice but it is crazy slow. To be honest, I have never experienced a SPA (sort of) web app that was this slow. Don't think its my server because power user theme is super fast.

As mentioned in previous posts - it's because of slow internet connection and lack of gzip to load SPA.

Good news is that pre-release has gzip included now! Please give it a try: https://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=408

    Thank you!

  • I'd like it if DA had a password reset option on the login page.

I think it does, you need to enable it from your Administrator settings -> Security settings.

For many months I am advocating for cPanel (Even after their pricing increase)
But today I test DirectAdmin on both VPS and on a Dedicated server (Both separate trial license)

I'm amazed! It works very well.

Maybe it has lack of some features cPanel already has but I'm sure after few times DA will add many more features.

However my only issue with DA is it takes too much time to create an user/account (It doesn't matter if it's a reseller account or an normal user hosting account)

For me creating a hosting account in DA takes more than 10 minutes.
That's why to do some cross check we have installed DA on a VPS then a Dedicated server with Dual Xeon Gold CPU/256GB RAM, 4x SDD disk Hard RAID 10

    But result is same

    https://prnt.sc/pcpp1m

Don't know if the issue if related to DA or not (Because we tested on VPS and Dedicated as well so maybe it's not server issue)

Hope it will fix soon if it's DA's problem.

I'm sure soon we will fully move to DA from cPanel

Edited: Finally an hosting account successfully created after 10+ minutes of waiting

    https://prnt.sc/pcpskb

Hm.. it's first report on this. May you create a support ticket on this? DA debug mode would also reveal what's wrong there.

i have same problem with softaculous i m unable to choose the domain even to install something

  • FranciscoFrancisco Top Host, Host Rep, Veteran

That's because 127.0.0.1 got blacklisted in Directadmin.

This issue is different from mine. It's probably what Francisco says.
Otherwise, the logs may explain the cause.

The issue i had was solved by the installatron support, they pushed a new version into the edge branch.

  • What @Francisco said. Look in the admin security option, you can select the checkbox to prevent blacklisting 127.0.0.1. It’s not selected by default.

Ye blacklisting 127.0.0.1 automatically then you see a bunch of weird issues as DA itself is unable to connect to the local API. Add it to the whitelist.

  • A previously removed account from DA cant be re-created with same username. Error folder already exist.

Have to change username to continue. Ex: add number at end of username.

Experienced it just now on buyshared.

Removal and re-creation is done from DA panel.
