Looking to stable providers can provide large number of VPSs

Hi all, new to here, hope I won't violate any rules.

My company is looking to get couple stable providers that can provide large number of VPSs (including rotation in IPs) in following details requirements:

TL;DR: Any providers that similar and as good as Linode/DigitalOcean/Vultr.

  • APIs that can: Creating VPS and Deleting VPSs
  • Can deploying VPSs from snapshot or images if possible
  • Virtual console access
  • Unlimited transfer bandwidth or cheap enough
  • If not unlimited bandwidth: Pool bandwidth across account
  • Pay in seconds / Pay-as-you-use
  • Easy on abuse tickets and allow our services in their ToS

We are proxy / VPN company.

Locations / VPS specs won't matter too much, price would prefer to close to or cheaper than Linode.

Edit: Suggestions are welcome too if anyone has good ideas

Thanks all
DJ

We do VPN/Proxy and some of our clients do cause troubles. So we want our providers easy to use when there is abuse from third parties.

tbh, we are not doing it in purposes but that's what we can't control. We do have really good relationship with lots of providers, you name it.

  • Lol good luck finding that here..

Not really, we have enough providers, mostly majors. Just try to get some luck here for few backups so I don't have to send email to them one by one.

    Unlikely to happen then.

Sounds like spammy customers or people port-forwarding botnets or getting banned from all the clothing/etc sites.

Thanks Francisco, we are legit, but we can't control our users. We try best to prevent that happen. IPs is for other purposes.

But you can restrict what your users do, no?

Or are you simply reselling vm's?

Why not colocate your own hardware and acquire your own IP space and cut out the middleman and save yourself a bunch of money? Is it because you don't expect to be around long term?

why do you need ip rotation? If peoply mostly use your vpn for browsing youtube, fb, porn you'll okay with most provider.

for API requirement, not a lot provider offer API for deploy server. Photonvps for example I'll leave them next month when billing due, because lack of API.

Simply, it will only cause us more money.

    Thank you for your information.
API just ease for our automation system to rotate VPSs.
IP rotation, pretty simple, as all VPN provider should know and understand and all of them will consider it.. Nothing illegal.

Oh, I was under the impression you needed "a large number of VPSs", if you only need a few VPSs then colocating would be more expensive. Exaggerating your needs might make you lose offers from decent providers.

I do need a large number of VPSs but colocation not work due to the IPs requirement.

I believe the correct wording is "IP diversity"

We did try colo 10 years ago but it doesn't work well.

To do what you want to do, and do it correctly, would be to buy your own hardware, buy your own addressing, and co-locate across multiple data centers over a large geographically area. To truely provide a high quality service, you cannot rely on lower spec / inexpensive VPSs to achieve your goal is only setting yourself up for failure.

They want to provide 'shoe proxies' and proxies to users which can be used for 'whatever'. This means that probably between 1 day and 1 month the IP will be blacklisted on a bunch of services and then be switched out. This means the life-span of the /24 is very short and they don't want to 'own' the IPs because then they would have to be bothered to actually clean them, rest them and such before being able to reuse them. Their hope is some provider has enough IP space and doesn't care enough that they will just keep letting them spoil /24's and keep rotating the /24's for them as they request. Effectively leaving the host with tons of dirty IPs which they get to clean-up after the fact, instead of the OP.

If they were doing it 'right' they would have realistic restrictions in place for the service and try to at least make sure their services are used for things which would not deliberately dirty the IPs. In this case, they already stated they have no intention of actually tracking this stuff and they simply want to be able to field a DMCA take down or whatnot and pretend to fix it (give customer a new IP to dirty and recycle that IP to another person), rinse and repeat until the IPs are so dirty they can't be used, then you either swap IPs or cancel service and leave the host to clean up the mess after them.

This is why above people quoted over and over his comment about rotating the IPs. No host wants to deal with a customer like this unless they are willing to pay a lot more than I think this OP is willing to pay, thus why he is here at LET making the request.

    my 2 cents.

    Cheers!

    ok fine.

    1GB Ram
    5GB Disk
10 IP's per VPS to switch as you wish between any of them
1TB BW per VPS (pool is fine)
Torrents completely blocked, mail ports will be rate limited.
    €50 p/VPS
Minimum term - 1 year unless paying by crypto/BTC.

Abuse notices will be forwarded for you to deal with, repeat abuse for exactly the same thing will have consequences if you proof yourself to be ineffective in dealing with your own customers.

    Seems fair.

The biggest red flag here is that this user is not looking for long term hosting. They want to get in and out of your IP space as fast as possible. "Pay-in-seconds / Pay-per-use" just screams short term client. This is the main reason why they don't want to commit to a colocation contract and would rather spend more money to ruin other people's networks than to invest a fraction of the cost to build their own.

Also, what kind of VPN/Proxy company doesn't care about location? That's another big red flag for providers. When you're running a service that is entirely latency dependent then location is the most important factor.

So far there's been nothing in this thread that instills any confidence that they would stick around for any real length of time and based on their requirement of "pay-per-use" it looks more like days rather than months.

There's only one other business model that I can think of where spending more money makes more sense than spending less money, and that's drug dealers who spend more on burner phones than getting one phone and committing to a contract.

I know it looks like true, but actually you are wrong.

With all 10+ providers we are currently working with, the shortest one is 2 years already, the longest one is since beginning. We don't simply dump providers. We keep good relationship with them, as long as they offer reasonable price and good services.

Please don't judge if you don't understand our business.

    Again, thank you anyway.
