    Most standard cPanel hosting should include MultiPHP Manager or PHP Selector to allow you to change this yourself. I don't know why a host would choose to disable these features.

    If you use Cloudlinux Hardened PHP it is probably still available.

    Sadly even Windows XP is still used widely in governments for example.

    There are thousands of companies still using Windows XP because there's some software they need to run and they either can't or won't pay for an update.

    Just checked. It is removed (by me) 5.5 is the oldest you can select.
