The chances of that happening are pretty much nill.
You need a license to even rent dedicated servers in China, and they'll throw you in jail pretty quick for any major violations. Can you imagine how brutal it would be for a datacenter/dedicated server company if they had some VPS client that decided he wanted to run a porn site or something over there?
I've seen 1 - 2 'china' dedicated companies on WHT, but I don't think they're still running.

Try https://zhangltd.net/plans_hk.html and for real China based vps send him a mail (but it's expensive ~50€ / month)
Then again, we've Hongkong.
@Francisco: Haha, what? I have seen so much offers, where any kind of content such as phising, warez hosting, botnet, etc was allowed on servers in china.
A good thing to protect the sever is, not to use port 80, only 443 with enabled ssl and block IPs from china. Most providers are ignoring abuses, so it is real bulletproof-hosting.
Hong Kong probably isn't enforced by the content laws that China has so that's very much an option.
As for mainland china? Can't see it happening easily

How about Japan? http://vps.sakura.ad.jp/
@Jeffrey japan - china it's all the same to me.
Linode offers VPS in Japan.
No porn, no political content, that's the bottom line of a web hosting business here,
copyrighted materials are usually fine unless they get complaint. I saw many times the whole DC got offline for 'wrong' content. Cost here is not as high as servers in Japan in fact.
Anyway, you need to obtain a license to have website running.
well that kinda sucked.
why would you need a vps in china in the first place?
yes why china when we have hongkong
What to do with vps in china? For website, you need record at www.miibeian.gov.cn,that's mission impossible .
To watch drama on youku (IP restricted like hulu)?
Come on, but you should apply a ICP license before you start a website. It's hard, and you'er required take a crime-likely photo.
Believe me or not, it is nearly impossible since your question appearing here rather a Chinese forum...
their flag is cool.
AFAIK to get an ICP license you should also have Chinese residence / Chinese passport. But the ICP license is needed only if you want to have a website in China, you should be able to get a VPS (without hosting any websites on it) without the need for license.
