Support is outstanding with Gabe, hes very friendly and has even helped me with things which are way outside of the providers support realm and I should have been charged for the additional support...We have expanded to around 19 services with him.

Their services are excellent, and raise the bar of what I've come to expect from unmanaged dedicated server providers. I upgraded hardware once, adding a SSD for performance reasons. The upgrade went very smoothly, Gabriel asked me when we should start, gave an estimate how long it'd take from then on, and how exactly the update would take place, and - well, that's exactly how it happened. No problems at all.

The company behind this awesome new server is I/O Flood. I want to take the time to give a special thanks to Gabe, who has been extremely helpful over the past couple of weeks in getting everything set up and ready to go for us in tip-top shape, offered me an amazing deal, and has gone above and beyond the level of service you'd normally expect from a hosting company.

Location? Possible to get a RAID card?

  • 20TB/mo is low for me, and i dont want to pay +80 for more

  • Very kind support and stable server. Highly recommended!

  • I love IOFlood I just wish all of their deals weren't really good deals on high end specs. I would love a good offer in the $30-$40 range.

Nice offer, if you can offer unlimited bandwidth will be more attractive.

Highly recommended, with ioflood inbound BW is usually not metered.

    Hi,

Correct, inbound is not limited. Also, we aren't strict about occasional overages.

As to raid card, the server in this sale doesn't support it, but if you want a custom quote, you can contact sales [at] ioflood.com and we can put together something with, say, 4x4tb hdd and hw raid.

Thanks for the reply. For unlimited b/w, we wouldn't be within the price structure allowed by lowendtalk.

That's good to know though I like the 6 drive setup because Raid 6 with two parity drives means fewer percent of the total drive space are being used for parity. Raid 10 works fine with software raid so 4x4tb and 6x3tb aren't that different.

This is an impressive offer and it makes me think of reorganizing my stuff to move it to one. What is the location again? Thanks!

Yup, we can do different drive sizes as well up to 8tb. We have more of the 3's in stock than the 4's is why the offer is for 6x3, but 4x4 (sw raid) should be the same price or close to it. Hardware raid does add some cost, and with spinning disks having more drives can do quite a bit for performance, so my personal preference would be for 6x3tb software raid, but we can do it either way.

As @SirFoxy mentioned, the location is Phoenix, AZ

I think 6x3tb (=3+3) raid-10 would work fine, but I have the impression software raid-6 (=4+2) would be pretty painful. Does anyone do that? What about ZFS?

sw raid 6 indeed would be pretty painful
