a926c0620e2fbe6ea2eef63ad36a0da9a7432d30 Would love to try out docker on a vps with IPv6, and host websites for my friends. Also, just to confirm, can I contact you to have the vm migrated once the Tokyo location is out?

    Deployed.
Tokyo currently is just an idea, nothing more.

    /etc/network/interfaces shows this

    auto lo
    iface lo inet loopback

    allow-hotplug eth0
    iface eth0 inet dhcp

    auto he-ipv6
    iface he-ipv6 inet6 v4tunnel
            address 2001:XXXXXXXXXX
            netmask 64
            endpoint XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
            local XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
            ttl 255
            gateway 2001:XXXXXXXX

    HE v6 tunnel, ask HE.
Besides, we have native v6 on every location, you can view the config in the panel.

  • lol you are right. I totally forgot that it was actually me who did this HE IPv6 setting a few days ago. I feel like an absent minded professor.

I have now enabled the setting defined in panel, then restarted VM but still same issue. Unable to ping6 to google.com. Here's current IPv6 setting:

    auto eth1
    iface eth1 inet6 auto

In your nanokvm dashboard, click on the "network" tab, there you'll get the correct IPv6 settings for your vps.

I doubt that you are still using Debian 8.
The interface naming changed since Debian 9, which is also explained in the panel.

  • Yes I am using Debian 8.11 and same setting is defined in the panel.

Doing ifconfig shows all three interfaces i.e. eth0, eth1 and lo

The 2 services for the route announcement and allocating addresses are running + the Bridge with the /64 subnet which your VM is allocated on, is reachable.

I spawned myself a Debian 8 on the Norway node, v6 worked out of the box fine.
Did you tried turning it off and on again?

  • Yeah I have restarted several times but no luck.

Do you got anything in the syslog? which maybe explains why its not working.
    Any firewall in place?

There is nothing in syslog about eth1. All entries are about eth0
    And no firewall.

Well, without any more information I cannot help you besides a reinstall.
You may try troubleshoot it a bit more.

  • Yeah reinstall would be fine as I don't have any data. Can I do reinstall myself or is it something only you can do? Plus I have a 100GB disk attached to this VM.

Go ahead send me a PM with the OS you want and I get it reinstalled.

Well, if you do not meet the requirements, a cronjob will take care of it.

So, read it next time, to save your time.

Restocked Fremont, when the migration is done its likely that a few slots will be opened at other locations.

You need to idle less on LET so you have at least 50 posts.

I was trying to find the post count, just found it on RHS of profile page, thanks!

End of this month, this thread will be closed and no further request will be handled on LET.

If you want to apply, you can do it on the 2 other forums.
All other stuff goes as usual.

Due to recent events, please keep in mind, downloading movies with bittorrent via nanokvm is forbidden.

We do not want to block UDP or tcpdump the traffic that goes over the node, so keep it civilized.
