@Neon was making the post :(

There will be always setup fees during a flash sale offer

Adding the KS-4 is only in FR datacenter.

  • So this one or ARM Sys?

  • Well @Neoon has taken over your job. Don't steal anyones lunch on the way out.

  • In which datacenter in France are these being deployed?

Is Kimsufi <-> OVH also limited to 100mbit/s?

Well, actually this was not automatic detected.
    Since cache cache something.

Someone reported it, but still faster then @ninzo59
I suspect maybe its wanted that I am slower then him but he failed.

Most of KS-4 are in RBX, some GRA. It's random attribution

KS is limited to 100mbits, OVH is 500Mbps / 1 Gbps.

I meant, if a Kimsufi is limited to 100mbit/s also when transmitting to/from other OVH/SYS servers.

To be honest, I don't know. Maybe someone from LET does. If not, I will ask some OVH colleagues.

  • No, I don't need this. No, I don't really want this. No, I'm not going to go grab my wallet.

To be fair 2,24 per TB is not bad, but its only 100Mbit.
So it depends, if you do not care if your backups take longer over night, maybe.
But if you care about speed, you take a SYS arm.

"Prices valid for the duration of the contract!"

It sounds like they're making a more explicit commitment to this now.

The switch port is fixed at 100 Mbit unless you're really lucky, and if you are, then you get 1Gbit incoming (from anywhere on the Internet, not just SyS/ARM!), but still 100 Mbit upload.

That was always there, yes even before the "DDoS" price hikes.

Sounds like a great offer. As for the setup cost I wouldn't care too much but just add 1/12 to the monthly cost - and still end up with less than 10€/month (+VAT) for 2C/4T at a quite reasonable speed. The low RAM might worry some but for a backup/storage server or a not too busy web site it's easily good enough.

Those 100 Mb/s, are they a fixed limit or are they what one is guaranteed (and if so, does anyone have experience what speed can normally be expected)?

But anyway a really nice deal afaic.

If just the CPU wasn't that weak.
I will stick with my KS-7 from last flash sale. Same price, half HDD, double RAM, stronger CPU. Fair enough to resist this time.
