Heyo!

With the start of the new year, we're taking our 128MB OpenVZ offerings out to pasture.

Introducing our newest member of the family, the Slice 512MB!

BLOCK STORAGE SLABS!

  • $1.25/month per 256GB.
  • Increases in increments of 1TB after the 1st 1TB.
  • Maximum of 10TB per Volume.
  • Maximum of 8 Volumes attached to a single Virtual Server.
  • Storage is NVME cached for both reads and writes (over 10TB of active caching!)
  • Storage is connected to all nodes over Infiniband RDMA to give local storage like performance!

  • Might wanna specify that your slabs are only available in LV.

I like my uptime down low and my servers all hacked. Can see me droppin' twenty-fours with a router in the rack.
Ya like ya Switch-Ports hot and ya servers all hacked. If ya pings real high and ya networks pitch black.

  • Anybody has some benchmarks (servescope, geekbench) for the SLICE 8192? I'm interested in CPU and (especially) I/O performance.

  • I like the discount for a yearly payment on Slice 512. Would be great if there were discounts for yearly payments on the other slice plans as well. (Didn't you used to do discounts for yearly payments across the board in the pre-slices era?)

"Linux will run happily with only 4 MB of RAM, including all of the bells and whistles such as the X Window System, Emacs, and so on." (M. Welsh & L. Kaufman, Running Linux, 2e, 1996, p. 32)

We did, but we stopped that. The 512MB gets it but that's mostly just a nod to the old OVZ 128's.

    But it is CIDR surgery.

  • Do 512MB slice are split over all node or there node exclusive for the 512MB one ?

They're spread over every node we have, we're not dumping everyone on a single node.

    Well that was balls.

The same UPS issue from Christmas time hit again, seems it can't transfer power properly.

Thankfully, the block storage cluster is fine, it has A+B now. Now that we've been able to make room in our racks i'll likely get ATS' installed for the KVM's as well.

Things are all spun up again, I was just doing final look overs.

I'll get a formal RFO outta Rob in the next bit and provide it so you don't sit there thinking i'm bullshitting :P
