    @randvegeta recommended.

    Your budget isnt enough for 500 GB direct CN though.

    Thanks @MikePT and @FAT32.

    Sadly @msoayu56, your budget is not even close to being feasible. Can maybe do indirect China route of you don't need much RAM/CPU/SSD, but even using cheap BW, $5 is a stretch.

    What is the VPS for?

    I guess so. But before you order, please note:

    • No China Route!
    • No RAID or Backups!
    • No Support!
    • No Refunds!

    If that's okay, I can probably restock it in our system.

    I think I don't need too many storage and good CPU, I need <200GB bandwidth, direct/indirect China route, budget is <5 USD.

    I've said this before but I'll say it again in case you are not aware.

    The cost of CN2 is about $100 - $150/mbit. So proportional / fair share for $5 would be around 50Kbit/s = 15-16GB data transfer per month.

    OK... cheaper bandwidth options exist if you go through HGC, PCCW, NTT, etc.. but even so, if including Direct China traffic, it's generally still going to cost about $50+ /mbit, so $5 buys you about 30GB data transfer.

    The only thing that would come remotely close to your budget is using ultra cheap bandwidth like HE.net, which routes via USA, or going through some kind of broadband. Business broadband cost about HK$500 (US$65) for 100Mbit. So theoretically have a fair share of about 7Mbit/s = >2TB. However, it would need to be NAT, the IPv4 address would not be static, and the broadband itself is technically oversold already and has no SLA or guarantees on performance what so ever. If you wanna use 100% local HK, that's totally doable, but for China... it's not realistic to to use even 1/10, and of course is more prone to congestion during peak hours.

    But a NAT VPS running over a broadband is probably doable for your budget.

    Well don't expect much for $12 /yr VPS in HK. If your expectations are low, then it's good :-).
