I just paid $10 for a yearly OpenStack/KVM VPS in Turkey from Hostigger last Sunday. The VPS has 1 core, 512MB RAM, 10GB SSD, 500GB traffic, 1IPv4. Its control panel does not support rDNS setting. The network is kind of slow among my VPSes.

Thank you for the interest in our products. The first invoice needs to be paid as is, but we can adjust the billing cycle after that.

Why do you send same offer in the same thread every 3 hours?

  • Am I the only one who does not see the point of hosting in that country? I think the ¨Citizens will be stripped naked by Turkey´s data law¨ is just the tip of the iceberg?

    https://www.computerweekly.com/news/450280254/Citizens-will-be-stripped-naked-by-Turkeys-data-law

  • it is the tip only - trend negative. turkey is cash-strapped with a devalued currency over the last years, that makes VPS deals comparably cheap especially in 2018. what worth is it however if anybody, even the government does not hesitate to sell your business, customer data without batting an eye?

I came across Hostigger's offer while browsing lowendstock.com. I wanted something cheap and located in some unusual places. Hostigger fits the bill. Lowendbox had listed Hostigger's offers twice before.

Linux kernel 3.16 with Debian jessie does not mean old KVM/OpenVZ.
Debian jessie uses kernel 3.16 and its suppored until 30 June 2020.
I have got one from Hostigger and have upgraded Debian from jessie to stretch, now its running with kernel 4.9.0-8-amd64.
