  • WOW! Thanks for make the dream come true!

  • I'll just leave some AUP stuff here.

Bigpowerhosting may terminate the account with no refund if:
    a) Use 25% or more of system CPU resources for longer then 90 seconds or 1% of the servers CPU resources for longer than 5 minutes. There are numerous activities that could cause such problems; these include: CGI scripts, FTP, PHP, HTTP, etc.
    b) Use of any kind of distributed computing software, including but not limited to SETI@home, Node Zero and Folding@home.
    c) Run any type of interactive real-time chat applications that require server resources. Remotely-hosted services are fully allowed.
    d) Run stand-alone, unattended server-side processes at any point in time on the server. This includes any and all daemons.
    e) Run any software that interfaces with an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) network.
    f) Run any file sharing, bit torrent or other P2P network services, client or server software.
    g) Run any gaming servers such as counter-strike, half-life, battlefield 1492 etc

Just to make it clear this is for Shared hosting only. Does not apply to vps or dedicated. We will make sure to clarify this in the tos and aup.

So that rules out currency updaters in e-commerce, sitemap updates and other such stuff, from user crons.
    :-/

Only on shared servers. Not vps or dedicated.

  • Is the "Gateway Fee" reoccurring or like a setup fee?

    Thanked by 1AlwaysSkint

That's pretty restrictive on shared too - I setup various application crons on my clients' domains, via their cPanel instances.
Note: this doesn't affect me but may impose restrictions for others.

Yeah, hidden extra fees are generally frowned upon in UK (illegal?) but seem to not matter to 'mericans. :-/

We had a lot of issues with it on our shared servers in the past. That is why we had to put some what of a restriction on it.

Not hidden at all. In plain view on the order form and invoice when ordering.

At that late stage in the proceedings, it is 'hidden' from the "headline" price. (People expect to see ex. VAT etc. but payment gateway charges?) ((Does PayPal allow this, BTW?))
You are not alone in this, though I've only come across it Stateside; sometimes it's packing charges, for example.

I doubt if a VPS boot up will take more than 1% of CPU , even it's idling ...

what is your CPU policy on VPS?
