My host is feeling generous...
...or not?
# df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/simfs 1.8T 781G 909G 47% / none 768M 4.0K 768M 1% /dev none 768M 0 768M 0% /dev/shm
So I started doing something like this:
# ls -ahl total 114G drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4.0K Oct 16 20:55 ./ drwx--x--x 20 root root 4.0K Oct 16 19:56 ../ -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 954M Sep 13 02:26 1000MB.test -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 954M Sep 13 02:26 1000MB.test.1 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 954M Sep 13 02:26 1000MB.test.10 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 954M Sep 13 02:26 1000MB.test.100 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 954M Sep 13 02:26 1000MB.test.101 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 954M Sep 13 02:26 1000MB.test.102 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 954M Sep 13 02:26 1000MB.test.103 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 954M Sep 13 02:26 1000MB.test.104 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 954M Sep 13 02:26 1000MB.test.105 [...truncated...]
Original package comes with 40GB space. They did say they were having a quota issue on a ticket I made before this incident. They said it was fixed, but I guess it has not, or this one is a new issue.
And this is what is shown on SolusVM:
I will let them know few hours later once I'm done with the fun... maybe. :P

rm -rf 1000MB.test.*
Thats happened to me on BlueVM, INIZ and Catalysthost. Its an OVZ Quotas issue, submit a ticket
Yeah, it happens on OpenVZ, dont fill the disk though you may cause issues for other users which in turn will be seen as a malicious act by your host and you might get canned.
I was just curious if I could actually use those extra space. Those files have been removed though.
Unlimited hosting!
Quota Issues suck. There will ALWAYS be the user who tries to abuse the opportunity, then when the quotas are fixed, they'll complain because their VPS doesn't work anymore! Stupid lusers...
Ha, anyone remember the time jarland got pissed at how long ovz was taking to recalculate disk quotas so he turned them off? I hate when servers don't do what I tell them I do :P
Well I tried using ~150GB. There were plenty of spares, so I hope it would not bother other users. Then deleted those files within 30 minutes. I notified the host about this thread, it's not solved yet but the ticket is marked as "In Progress".
